Aug 18th 2010 2:31PM I'm really looking to these guild changes. It really gives incentive for a guild to grow and work together. I am a little worried about guild hoppers. Someone could just hop from guild to guild, exploiting all their work and buying the items they have unlocked and leaving right after. I know they aren't limited in number or anything, but it would upset me if I found out that's all someone wanted to be in the guild for. Does anyone know if they are going to implement a limit that requires you to contribute/be in the guild for a set amount before you can buy the unlocked things?
May 1st 2010 1:33PM This one happened to me just the other day:
I finally broke down and bought myself the Celestial Steed. I really like it, and the fact that I'll never have to buy another mount possibly ever again. So I activated it, logged on wow, claimed it, and did a few randoms before signing off. Then I go to wow.com to check if anything is new. LO AND BEHOLD! They announced the Touring Rocket to release the next day.... *facepaw*
Apr 21st 2010 12:32AM Hooray for cheesiness! XD
But yeah, yours is cool too =D Both are my real characters and my only 80s. My real backstory was that Dranic as a hunter had a Red Proto-Drake mount that was ALSO her pet, but I changed it to make more like something you would see.
Apr 20th 2010 1:55PM This actually comes from a back story I had for my DK... back when I played her =P
Dranic, level 80 Female Draenei Death Knight Quest Giver in Icecrown. Can be found by a small tent with a collection of body parts, Ghouls (friendly), Deathcharger, and Winged Steed of the Ebon Blade. She sometimes comes under attack by Scourge ghouls, and fights them off.
"[The biting cold of Icecrown seems to get colder and heavier as you approach the long Death Knight.]
"Velcome, fellow traveler. I see you are enjoying the cold of Icecrown. [The Death Knight lets loose a cold, rattling cackle.]
[Quest] Crime Scene Investigation.
Description: "Do not let my cold exterior [whispers: and interior] scare you, traveler. I once used to be among the living.
I was a Hunter in life. I traveled Azeroth and Outland with my many pets. I roamed vast plains hunter new and exotic creatures. I saw the beginning of this war in Northrend, but was not able to participate for long. I was in the Plaguelands, trying to aid the Paladins in reclaiming the land when I was ambushed. Dozens of ravenous ghouls attacked me. I was not prepared to defend myself or my pets, and perished at their claws and teeth.
But then I was risen by the Lich King. I was trained and brainwashed into following his every command. But I broke free with my brethren, and found a new purpose. I arrived in Northrend and cut my own way to Icecrown, where I continue to fight the Scourge in my own way.
I have not yet been back to that horrible place where I was murdered. Would be so kind as to go back there for me and find my journal and lost personal effects?
Objectives: Find Dranic's Lost Journal, Backpacks (x3), and her Pet Wolf Bones.
Turn in: "Thank you kindly, traveler. I lost much of my memory from my previous life, and these will help jog my memory. And, oh my... My pet wolf. Thank you for finding his bones. He was very dear to me in my past life. I had him as a little girl on Draenor. Thank you, now I may give him a proper burial... Or I may try something else... But here, traveler, take something. I have no use for many of these things."
Rewards: Choice between: Undead Elekk Mount - Dranic's Decomposed Bow (staff) - or Dranic's Aged Darts (ammo, counts as both arrow and bullet)
Also includes: Aged Backpack Mold (food): "Plentiful mold that grew in a previous life's lost memory."
After: Repeatable quest to find lost pages of Dranic's Journal (50 pages in all, spread over Easterm Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Outland, and Ships Docked in Northrend)
Ability to buy more darts/Aged Backpack Mold.
Unlocks quest from Focail, Level 80 Draenei Hunter roaming Grizzly Hills on a wold mount.
Focail roams Grizzly Hills on her wolf mount, occasionally jumping off to kill and skin various hostile beasts.
Quest becomes available when you have a page of Dranic's Lost Journal: "[The Draenei Hunter smiles brightly at you] Greetings, [name]. I have heard about many of your exploits around the Hunting Lodges. You do your race proud.
[Quest] I'm On My Way.
Description: "Hold a minute. [Gets off her wolf] Something is off about you. You seem to have an air of nostalgia around you. [She eyes you suspiciously] Does the name Dranic have any meaning to you.
[You tell her of your exploits in aiding Dranic and show her a page from her journal. She reads it quickly, clutching the weathered page to her chest when done.]
You've helped her? But I haven't seen her in years! You must take me to her, I need to see my sister again!"
Objective: Mount Focail's Gryphon and bring her to Dranic.
On accepting the quest she whistles for her gyrphon. "I hope you don't mind riding my gryphon. He's well tamed, most of the time."
Objective complete: Focail jumps off her mount and has a long and teary dialogue with Dranic.
Turn in: "Thank you so much, [name]. You have reunited me with my long lost sister. I admit that it will take some getting used to, but I know we can get through it. Here, keep this in return for your compassion."
Rewards: Lock of Lost Sisters (Trinket): "Composed of a lock of ever-fresh hair from Focail and a wiry lock from Dranic. 'We shall be together again, and never lose each other from then on.'-Dranic"
Feb 6th 2010 1:04PM I agree that leveling is a HUGE pain, but it can also be fun. I started a Hunter a while back and got her some heirlooms. It was a pain until 10 since I didn't have a pet, then it kinda took off. I was able to get to 32 and head to Stranglethorn, but then the fun stopped. I couldn't kill anything, and I couldn't find a good place to level for a while. I forced myself, after months of not working on her, to start leveling again. I got her to 45 in like a week, and now I'm 65 a couple weeks later. I really got more motivated with the Dungeon finder tool, which allowed me to show off my rockin' DPS, get much better gear, and level while doing it =D Now, through sheer force of will, I'm forcing myself to level her. I really want her 80 so I can switch to a new realm and get into raiding.
Speaking of which, can anyone recommend a good US server to switch to for getting into, then progressing for raiding? I'm looking at Whisperwind atm.
Feb 5th 2010 7:33PM When Arthas Menethil wore the Helm of Domination he became one with Ner'zhul, with his body becoming the host of them both. But then we kill his body. What happens then? Once Bolvar wore the Helm he became the new Lich King, but who did he combine with? Was is just Ner'zhul, or was it the Arthas/Ner'zhul combo? Plus, what happens next? Can he destroy the Scourge, be forced to take the part of the bad guy and have them attack still, or can he not do anything?

Jan 30th 2010 12:12PM Mine wasn't as big as some of these other posters, but I had my own way of protest a couple days ago =D
I was leveling my Hunter (55 at the time) and I got in Blackrock Depths for the fiftieth time. (random my ass XD) So we went through the gate on the left, killed some mobs, then went through the next gate to the right of that. In the big open cavern where all the bloodhounds and stuff are the tank pulled a group and we burned them down. We were continuing on when I was attacked by a patrol that no one noticed. Needless to say I was shouting help, but the tank pulled another group instead. I died and the mobs proceeded over and pummeled on the rest of my group. After taking care of them the healer rezzed me and I said sarcastically, "Thanks for the help."
The tank blamed it on me, saying I pulled the pack after he was dealing with another group. So I decided to just not DPS. from then on I didn't attack, I just let the others kill everything. No one noticed, and eventually they kicked another DPS for no apparent reason. I got some good loot, experience, and money from that run =D
Jan 28th 2010 1:52PM I'd go back and Knock out Varian as he fought Onyxia. No more king of Stormwind =D
Then I'd persuade Garrosh to follow me on my flying mount and drop him over the egde in Netherstorm.
After that I'd run Thrall through Stratholme to get him some better gear.
Then I'd go back, get cursed in Gilneas, and become the first Half Draenei-Half Worgen Hunter and go off to help kill The Lich King....
I have a busy agenda >.>
Nov 25th 2009 10:49AM May luck be with me, to WIN!
