Mar 24th 2011 11:00PM Why play this when you can play Minecraft?
Dec 19th 2010 9:39PM I still LOVE runescape music. Sure, I tend to prefer other music to it, but it manages to be simple and still carry the feel of the place across very well. It isn't usually too distracting, so I often use it for study music at low volume if silence really isn't cutting it. I really wish JaGeX would sell all of its music. I would gladly pay $30 or more for so many tracks.
Nov 12th 2010 5:39PM That isn't Capa...that's the Psych officer, Searle.
Oct 10th 2010 6:15AM Sadly, seems to be true.
Either we get a Warcrack clone or we get something lacking modern MMO features. (Sometimes both!)
We need an original MMO with a customizable UI, AH, non-laggy UI, actually designed for the PC not console, etc...And nice graphics. No need for perfection, but decent graphics would be a plus. Just don't run at 16 FPS on my HD5850. Please?
Oh, and in case it's not obvious, I'm currently playing FFXIV right now...
Sep 21st 2010 2:00AM Short version:
It's better. The mouse(w/ hardware mouse enabled) and keyboard make it navigable, but the menus aren't much fun, and all the confirmation screens just suck. I wish I could right-click a vendor to talk with them, and that they would just copy wow's AH system(or, honestly, RS's GE. Anything would do the trick. Retainers DON'T cut it.I have played several games without an ah/GE, and now, having played ones with them, I'm 100% spoiled. I still like the game, but it's an annoyance.) The good thing is that most of the big stuff has been fixed, and I figure that unless they really don't like their customers, they'll fix the rest relatively soon.
I suggest asking around. See if you can find somebody to give you their 30-day trial from the Collector's edition, and give it a shot. If you like it, grats! You found a new game. If not, nothing lost.
Sep 14th 2010 11:34PM Shame. I'll miss wow.com and www.wowinsider.com. I think wow.joystiq.com sounds much less important. Ah well.
Sep 13th 2010 10:07PM LOL
Win. I've seen that before, but your comment was pure win.
Sep 13th 2010 10:06PM Wow doesn't have too many load screens, so a SSD is less important than in other games. I personally run my copy of WoW off the HDD despite having a X-25M. Just browse the web while you wait for it to load. It doesn't take that long.
Sep 13th 2010 10:04PM The RAM should be decent, My DDR2 still seems not to be bottlenecking me yet(too much), but I would suggest upgrading the video card. I'd suggest trying to upgrade your card, and if that doesn't work, upgrade your RAM. Also, don't get the HD5770 suggested in this article. It most likely won't be a huge upgrade. Try a 460 or a 5850 instead. Both are excellent cards, and will most likely be just fine. One advantage of a HD5xxx card would be that they seem to require less CPU to scale well. I'm no expert, but I wonder if that would mean that they require less memory performance? Anyhow, good luck!
Sep 13th 2010 9:56PM Don't know. My system isn't affected. What do you mean by top-end system? Maybe you have some sort of bottleneck that only shows up with that (can't think exactly what, possibly some physics on the CPU only used by it? Now, if your CPU is great, I honestly can't see what it is, but my guess is that you're hitting something wierd. I'm no expert.)
