Blood Pact: A brief primer for the Cataclysm warlock {WoW}

Dec 2nd 2010 7:03PM Yeah, the issue is that the self healing simply isn't there anymore.

Siphon life now gives a 50% chance to restore 2% of your health. I promise you even with a 20% damage reduction any mob will be hitting you for far more than the effective 1% of your life per 3 seconds you're getting from it. You may be able to pull 2 or 3, and make the difference up with drain life but the "Pull as many as you can find" days are over - trying that on cata mobs in the beta I only ended up with a perfectly flat surface where my face used to be!

Dec 2nd 2010 5:22PM While you're right that aff isn't incredibly slow, its not the power house of non-stop grinding it used to be. this is primarily due to the siphon life nerf. More mobs hitting you will hurt now, as opposed to being balanced by increased self regen.

Aff can still kill alot, but be prepared to sit and drink from time to time.

Dec 2nd 2010 5:19PM The worgen racial passive crit is as good as any other. The reason crit is so dis-liked is not taht we don't like crit for some mad reason, it's because its comparatively expensive. I don't have the exact numbers, but I believe in wrath it was roughly 24 crit for 1% vs 16 haste - which is why we favoured haste. However 1% crit is still as good as 1% haste in almost every situation (the only exception I can think of is if that 1% haste pushed you over the threshold for a DoT tick.

Because their passive is useful, Worgen (I believe) are actually superior to every race except Gobbos, which just pick them to the post with a decent passive AND a rocket launcher. Worgen however are still the clear min-max choice for alliance and very good in general.

Breakfast Topic: What zones have been shattered for the better? {WoW}

Dec 2nd 2010 8:03AM All of them. Seriously, the worst I can say is Arathi has stayed the same. Every other zone has improved to a greater or lesser degree.

Arcane Brilliance: Things I'm thankful for {WoW}

Nov 27th 2010 11:15PM Haha! Silly mages, you think this is a nerf, but actually it i a quality of life buff! This just shows Blizzard is achieveing a better understanding of the warlock mind!

You see, a warlock 3 favourite activities are:

3)Writing poetry in black eyeliner about how horrible life is and how we just want it to end and noone understands me.

So while our dps may have been nerfed by 12% it has allowed us to achieve a 258.65% QQ quantity increase. We've never been happier.

The OverAchiever: Do them now! {WoW}

Sep 30th 2010 4:43PM I liked punching domesticated felboars ( Just pull one over to Oronok Torn-heart and you can fight them naked, since the friendly ork will heal you whenever you get low. Simply start punching one and go off to do something more interesting (watch TV, write a novel, observe grass growing etc.). You only need check in every 30 mins or so to start a new boar going.

Breakfast Topic: What enemy would you turn traitor to join? {WoW}

Sep 9th 2010 8:49AM I'm a warlock.

If its got an agenda that involves setting fire to puppies, a uniform with lots of black and skulls and a habit of tying paladins into very slow inefficient death traps that they always escape from - sign me up!

Seriously as an alliance warlock I can't remember the last time I did something evil. Its all helping orphans and hugging nuns. So very depressing :(
