Mar 2nd 2011 8:14PM Honestly, the idea of any kind of hybrid tax having anything to do with dps is kinda getting on my nerves. If there is any hybrid tax, it's that hybrid classes have the ability to switch between different roles, however it's more of a learning curve to learn a different role than it is to learn a different spec with the same role...
Keep in mind that all the pure dps classes not only have 3 dps trees, but those trees are all either ranged or melee. For example, rogues have 3 melee trees and mages have 3 ranged trees. So it stands to reason that while the hunter/rogue/mage/warlock can't tank, heal or do both melee and ranged dps, learning a new spec is a lot easier for them than it is for hybrid classes.
That being said, warriors, priests, and dk's do have 2 specs with the same exact role, but they still can change their role, so that point is kinda moot.
Honestly, the current idea of the hybrid tax is flawed. Dps really shouldn't really have anything to do with it and I think that Blizzard has been trying to get away from that definition, especially with specializations. I think it's pretty safe to assume at this point if Blizzard nerfs your class at this point, it's not because your a hybrid, it's because they think you're doing to much damage.
Also, I'm sure other people have mentioned this, but according to your graph, fury warriors and ret pallys are doing way more damage than shadow priests. Assuming it's correct of course *shrugs*
Jul 13th 2010 1:53PM Alright thanks! I will make sure to run those places. I actually already have Liar's tongue, but it's a fast weapon, so it's in my offhand. :)
Jul 12th 2010 6:41PM Quick question about combat rogues...
Whats more important? Stats, or weapon type? I've been using a naxx 10 mh sword for a while now (torment of the banished) because im a casual player and casual players dont really get good swords or axes from heroics, except for a nice oh sword that i found in hor. However, Aledar's Battlestar just dropped for me and it's obviously vastly superior to my mh, however, it's a mace. I won the greed roll and I'm wondering if I should keep it or vendor it.

Oct 16th 2009 7:47PM Noob Question on DK DW frost:
Currently my dk is on reaper of dark souls/stalactite chopper. Im considering buying mats for a titansteel bonecrusher to replace the chopper, however, I noticed that the bonecrusher is a main hand and has a slightly faster speed than the reaper, which I am planning to put in my OH. Is that a problem? (I'm replacing the chopper because I still need the hit from the reaper, hell the chopper is slower than that mace.) Should I wait for the mace from h toc for my oh or go ahead and buy the mats?
Sep 6th 2009 6:54PM Great article. Can we have this for the other classes please?
