Jan 23rd 2011 2:31PM I have had a couple of @mac.com addresses from day one. I have added aliases and been forced to use the @me.com on some of them. I guess Apple thinks the added branding awareness from the @mac.com is of less value since they make more money off their non-mac products. I have a friend who has to use my @me.com addresses cause for some reason the DNS server his mail client uses doesn't think the @mac.com is a valid address! I always have to put a special Reply to: address when I email him. I will be one of those people who think hard about dropping Mobile Me if Apple makes me use only the @me.com address. I already use the faster Dropbox for storage and can park my websites easily on GoDaddy so the need for MobileMe is only cause I'm too lazy to change.
Jan 2nd 2011 5:49PM All I have to say is after the success of Avatar it should be much easier to promote a CGI movie than ever before. The only way in my opinion to make this film work is via CGI. The tools are there, the render farms are there, and the talent is there.

Dec 23rd 2010 4:37PM I would like them to allow spaces in character names. That would allow surnames and the ability to get close to the name you want on the realm. I wouldn't be much of a change but it would add a lot.
Dec 23rd 2010 4:28PM All They would have to do is allow spaces in the naming dialog and you would have surnames allowing more name choices on a realm.
Sep 16th 2010 11:22PM I have almost all my music on CD. I hardly ever buy from online (maybe 3-4 tunes ever). I have completely re-ripped my CD library a couple of times when the compression schemes got better and when I got more hard drive space. I'm a old geezer and even with old geezer ears I can hear the difference from the CD and the compressed file formats. I am about to re-rip again since the drive cost are low enough to rip in lossless (I have over 400 CDs easily). I may even go AIFF. If you buy a tune online it is very seldom you can re-download a better version without paying some more for the privilege to do it. I buy used CDs most of the time and they can be bought cheap though of course not as cheap as online but worth it to me.
Sep 5th 2010 1:46AM The thing I wish Apple to implement is streaming the rear channels of the surround sound from the DVD player or Front Row apps (or Plex or Boxee for that matter) to an Express so I don't need to have wires running to my rear speakers. That would be very sweet.
Apr 15th 2010 2:42PM I am not a programmer so may be WAY off base here but wouldn't the easiest solution to this is for Adobe to make its CS5 programs not compile to an iPhone app directly but compile to C+ or C++ instead (using standard libraries if there is such a thing) and then it would pass the new guidelines.
Apr 10th 2010 2:31PM The comparisons between Microsoft and Apple always amuse me. Until Microsoft makes their own computer or their own cell phone there is NO comparison. Apple makes their own software and hardware so can dictate what goes on it. The same way game console makers can with their machines (restricting Linux installs for instance).
Nov 21st 2009 3:03PM I have had many Macs since my first Apple IIe (technically not a Mac) and also a few PCs along the way. I currently play on a 8-core Intel Mac tower with 10Gigs of ram and almost 2TB of hard disc (I'm a graphics designer by trade - need the big metal). I also play on a MacBook Pro. On the tower it is a total pleasure to play WOW. I have all the settings on full and can see for miles in game and only have lag in the places everyone has. I used to play more FPS games on the Mac (Unreal, Halo, Doom/Quake) but now it is mainly WOW. On the Laptop I have to pill the battery and use a cooler to keep the internal fans from going in but it still keeps up. The Macs cost more but are worth it to me. Just like how some people have no problem buying designer jeans or fancy sneakers for over $100 (not me - Levis and All Stars here). People have different taste and are willing to pay accordingly.
