Mar 13th 2012 9:24AM All the lock hate! The funniest part, all the people talking about how horrible they are to level.
I have 8 different 85's (no priest, waiting for MoP, no warrior.... long story), one of each class. I leveled my lock faster than any of them by a day and a half!
Let me teach everyone how to level a lock: Go affliction. Use Fel Armor. Dot the first thing you see. Then the second, the third, fourth....Nth..... Watch them die around you as you are getting healed THE ENTIRE TIME.
Really. It's just that simple. Now, talking about the end-game. Locks suck. ZERO BURST DAMAGE! Even Destro, our "nuke" class is MILES BEHIND other classes. Demo is great for AOE phases, but unless every boss has a "aoe for 30 seconds" phase, they're just another "lock". And Afflock? If there are two, maybe three targets they are great. The second those targets start to die leaving only one left, an afflock's dps is bad.... Just bad (I wanted to insert a joke but realized I couldn't without offending, well, everyone).
All that being said, a rogue suffers a lot of ramp-up time on their dps as well. We have to, otherwise we'd destroy everything in pvp. But, come 5.0 that gets changed, a bit. Other classes might have a few seconds of ramp-up, but locks and rogues have it the worst, and locks are way ahead in the "suck department".
As for the only class I refuse to play: After 5 aborted attempts at getting a level 85, no more warriors for me (really, they are just so damn boring!)
Mar 12th 2012 3:29PM My one desire for professions is more a "quality of life" issue.... GET RID OF THE STUPID 1.5, 2.0, 4.3 (or whatever) SECOND TIMER FOR DOING CERTAIN THINGS
OR... at the very least, understand that I'm a 525 Inscriptionist.... I MIGHT HAVE LEARNED HOW TO MILL HERBS BY NOW, so at level 1, it takes 3 seconds, at 525, it should almost be instant! I understand that gatherers might complain, but taurens mill faster and worgen skin faster, so this isn't something "new" to the game, and it's not a game breaking thing either. The only thing that changes, my ability to post goods increases because it's no longer the soul-crushing event that it is currently. In fact, prices will DROP because more people will get involved! Yes, our profit margins will go down, but with volume selling I'll still make as much, if not more gold, in the long run
SECOND.... If I'm a plate wearer and also a blacksmith, and my armor suffers damage, allow me to fix it for a fraction of the cost! Maybe a "you need X bars of Y ore to fix your armor" and every bar you bring to the table lowers the cost of repair. The same would hold true for tailoring and leatherworking, or an engineer and his helmet. This would just make sense (at least, to me)
Mar 12th 2012 9:29AM I like the list, but I honestly don't remember Azshara, as I've only done it once and that was way back when on my first toon (started two weeks before Cata).
Thousand Needles, oh how I LOATHE thee! Well, I did.... I might still. I didn't know that you had a boat the entire time so I spent HOURS swimming around that stupid zone! I'm about to get toon #8 to that zone, and I'm excited to see how that changes my opinion.
Silverpine was AWESOME! PERIOD! Getting to quest with "those three" was freaking cool as can be! When I got to that quest chain for the first time I read the first few quests and thought, "How am I going to survive this!?" Then I saw how.... and I was weeping tears of joy!
Hillsbrad was very forgettable for me. I don't remember it at all. Other than going there on my main right after the Shattering and having Yetimus punt me.
Stonetalon had one of the more amazing stories, and easily the most amazing FINISH. Seriously, if you don't play any other zone on this list (and Silverpine should be played), Stonetalon should the one zone you play from start to finish because of the story. I haven't completed the zone since my first toon, but I still remember it!
Mar 8th 2012 8:53AM Rodney McKay - "We need the Zed PM to power the gate"
Jack O'Nell - "Huh?"
Daniel Jackson - "ZPM. He's Canadian"
O'Neill - "I'm sorry"
Sorry, but when I heard "Zed A", this is all I could think about
Mar 8th 2012 8:29AM Two thoughts on this change:
1) NO MORE 1342 (or whatever that damn number is!) HIT! YES! MORE MASTERY FOR ME!
2) Now I need expertise? DAMN YOU BLIZZARD, let me get to 10 BAZILLION mastery, like I want!
However, taking poisons off the spell hit table is awesome (I always hated having to explain to non-assassination rogues why I was worried about spell hit, being one of only two melee classes without a "spell" [warriors, for those playing at home]).
Mar 7th 2012 8:28AM Warriors.... Best I ever did was level 40ish, and it was painful. I just couldn't stand the way it played. It could be the fact that my main is a rogue and thus, I play a melee toon a LOT, and I just didn't want another melee (my dk hasn't been touched in months)
Mar 6th 2012 8:24AM You're missing the most important part of a cartel - You need MUSCLE! Yeah! You need a "goombah"! A thumb-breaker!
*pssst - I'm available :)
"I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse"
Mar 1st 2012 4:51PM I don't remember the exact count, but I think it's somewhere around 100 auras in Weak Auras. That's just the buffs I follow.
If you add things like when abilities are off CD, or when a boss places a specific debuff on me (like Ultra or H Yor), it grows to over 150.
I couldn't live without WA anymore!
