Apr 16th 2011 1:22PM Not to QQ about pallies, well a little QQ since I am a bear tank; but they are the only ones who take ZERO negative effects to their defensive capabilities when "turning off" their agro gain. Kitteh, one boss hit and you are dead; dropping into frost presence as a DK, one hit and you are dead; battle stance, take 10% more damage and lose access to some abilities. And to that I say, you should have to tank my mobs when doing dailies =p
Jan 20th 2011 12:52AM I too am not liking bear tanking. I have been a bear tank since I was a druid back in Vanilla and those were some dull times if you weren't a warrior. My problem is that all the other tanks are fun to play. I have to fight to keep threat in an AoE situation, even one that is supposed to be an AoE situation (like the croc adds in Lost City). I have no problem with challenge, but I am not rewarded for the challenge with fun game play.
I feel like having Kitty in the same tree is what is boning us from having the control and fun that other tanks have. If a PvP kitty had access to the DPS of a Kitty and the control of a Prot warrior, we would literally be unstoppable. There would be cats everywhere and then who would change our litter boxes?
It seems like the addition of a mutually exclusive talent set could give us access to the additional tools we crave as tanks, or the DPS we need as cats to be competitive/a threat in PvP. Sort of like Single Minded Fury vs Titan's Grip however if Cat is chosen, then Bear and the additional talents for tanking bliss are unavailable in that spec. As a talented Cat you could still emergency tank in your bear form and use the Feral spec to its potential. As a talented Bear you could still swap to cat and sprint, run buff everyone, do better DPS etc... you just would not be competitive and/or a big threat as a cat in PvP.

Mar 10th 2010 8:42PM A bit off topic, but I was talking with some friends a couple months ago and think that Monk would be a great addition to the Disc priest tree. Quite like Feral Cats and Bears are in the same tree, but use vastly different talent choices to get the job done. So a Disc priest is either a bubble throwing healer or a Monk. They would derive all of their damage, dodge and resistance from their Intellect and Spirit (the spirit trick could work for +hit).
None of the attacks are physical, though they must be within melee range to use most of the Monk abilities. They would be "locked out" of Shadow talents by the defining Monk talent reducing Shadow damage by 50% or something. They could have a three minute CD AoE knockdown using the staff, etc...
The shield would be on a much shorter cooldown and would auto cast on the monk on CD unless he chose to place it on another individual. He also would only be able to buff one individual at a time, himself or another. Basically, the shield would be a resource that the Monk uses to buff his abilities. As the shield ticks he would receive a buff which may cause him to cast an empowered heal, empowered Holy Fire or something like that. I also thought something cool like a primary 10 second CD "Many Fists" attack which would benefit even more greatly from the absorbed shield damage. May not work, but it definitely sounded fun to me.
Sep 8th 2009 11:24PM The option to leave the DK starting area untouched probably existed prior to WoW:Cat. However, most will cry foul if blizzard leaves this area as is for the start of WoW:Cat. The time-line is tight, but if the Cataclysm happens prior to the Lich King's fall then piles of DKs could be freed as he:
2. runs away to lick wounds
3. rolls a ret paladin
I think, DKs get a new starting area taking them level 1 to 20 quite like everyone else and then level the way everybody else does after 1-20. How does the story support this? Because the DKs under the Lich King's control when it is broken are no longer empowered by the Lich King. Besides, from a gameplay perspective, they are not so new to the end game that we need them to start at 55. Meh. We will see
I mean, in the lore we do not have 1400 DKs running around on the Azeroth, or 1400 hunters or 1 female dwarven warrior. For game plays sake we do, but as far as lore goes there only needs to be a handful of Worgen DKs in lore to support them in-game. Somehow I think we all forget that. Only one party has to beat an instance and one guild down a raid, they made that happen to advance the story. According to WoW "lore" there is not 20 parties of 25 epic heroes, there is one.
