Mar 30th 2012 9:50AM "Toon" is the city centre of Newcastle, UK. It will get no love from me being used as a synonym for character in WoW.
While we're on the word hate, anyone else on a server where (*cringes*) "bio" is used to describe a toilet break? STOP SAYING BIO, YOU ARE NOT ROBOTS AND YOU'RE PUTTING ME OFF MY YOGHURT!
Oct 22nd 2011 5:14PM I particularly like how even "sensible" sites like this one, that has a lot of female writers, still dive in for the the "HEY LOOK! They have tits and hips, covered in minimal fabric! SCH-win!" effect.
Not everyone that checks this site is male and wants a free hard-on, guys. I can't help but think that I'd like to have a look at some of the male crossdressing cosplayers. Rawr.
May 18th 2010 7:04AM Still think Path of Cenarius would be cool to have IRL :D
May 17th 2010 7:25PM /rapturous applause.
Because... totally. Same rule also goes for people who says "Anyone got Recount?" when they just happen to be top of the list just says to me, hey, look, you have Recount too, I know it, you know it, eeeeeeeeveryone else in the group knows it. Knock it off.
The trouble is, as I see it, that a lot of men (and, mainly, boys) have this sociological compulsion to prove that they're men but the concept is largely dead, certainly in the context of sitting in front of a computer and pressing some buttons. Run into a burning building and save some children, against all the odds perform surgery on someone and save their life, raise a child to know the difference between right and wrong and maybe you'll be "The Man", but doing something stupid to make your numbers higher than someone else's and you're nothing more than a weasel with weaselly ways.
It all reminds me of one of my favourite quotes, as far as I know attributed to anon, "Having a penis is a great responsibility, which is why I think most men shouldn't be allowed to have one".
May 17th 2010 11:02AM I tend to think of a particularly bad hangover as being Curse of Agony (Rank 1).
May 17th 2010 8:11AM A few months ago, when I was out in Silithus gathering Cenarion Circle rep with Loque'nahak the spirit beast by my side, it struck me that although the mobs there were dying pretty quickly the last thing they turned to see was a beast they'd never even SEEN before pouncing at them with glowing eyes and razor sharp teeth and claws.
Must have been pretty terrifying.
All in all though, hunters not quite as horrific as death knight UNLESS...
Well, all them arrows seem to go straight for the FACE! That can't be painless.
May 12th 2010 11:49AM I can't believe occasional mentions of rotoscoping have neglected to say: "Welps, Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly didn't do too bad out of it". Waking Life specifically as, yes, it's traced over digital film but there's sooo much more going on that keep finding even after the nth view.
That said: I have a blood elf female that I can never type /dance with. Never been too fond of Britney but that's beside the point, there's no flow between the three sections of the dance. Blood elf males could teach Night Elf males a thing or two about How To Die, by all means but some drama into it but going "YAAAAAAR!"? Jebus, shut UP. You're dead, we get it. Good.
I love the night elf female /salute. It is an cool salute.
Apr 17th 2010 11:24AM I am tempted by the Celestial Steed, but put off because, as an estimate, currently 76.4% of my server has one so there's really nothing *that* special about it.
BUT! If it's a choice between putting up the subscription costs or selling a few non-advantage items in the Blizzard Store, I'm happy to go for the BlizzStore. I would, however, love to have Li'l KT though, and I'd be happy to pay for it. And the criminally cute Gryphon Hatchling.
Apr 5th 2010 8:24AM Advantage, yes. Cheating? Not entirely. When I'm keeping an eye on my cooldowns, the boss, the adds, the people around me and a varying number of other stuff, I don't see the problem in having an add-on to point out something quite important that's just happened that needs reacting quickly to. Super-quickly at the best of times, given that DBM and BWs exist the people that design encounters seem to have taken this into consideration more and more.
That said, I have my bars off to the side where it still needs some occasional glancing over to (I don't like how much of the screen default settings take up), I agree with Shnitzki about raid leaders saying what's happening anyway (often, I think, just for something to say) and there are times when certain warnings have been switched off because they are far too spoon-feedy. I mean, come on, "Interrupt Now!"?
NOW! If you were to talk about DBM's PvP "twin" Afflicted3 on the other hand...
