Blizzard threatens players who plan "Gnome March" for Warriors {WoW}

Dec 5th 2006 1:23PM Drew, you're wrong. Remember the forums are read by several ten of thousands and perhaps even hundreds of thousand people, every day.

If even 1% of the readers agree and start creating lvl 1 gnomes on a specific server at a specific time and march into IF, the server will crash. this has happened before which is why Blizzard is very much against it.

Raids in game only consist of players who already heave accounts on that server. The server load is designed for that, but not for an additional 1000+ accounts in addition to its current load. And in IF no less (traffic jam city).

WoW Moviewatch: 5-player UBRS {WoW}

Nov 10th 2006 9:58PM Well, it depends on their gear. If you have T2 ot T3 gear on the 5 of them, that's not really impressive at all. UBRS is literally a cake walk for a 5 T2 equipped party.

Breakfast Topic: Your Dream Gear {WoW}

Oct 13th 2006 3:53PM My guild just downed our 3rd AQ40 Boss, right now my dream gear for my priest consists of ...

Robes of the Guardian Saint [AQ40] (Fankriss the Unyielding)
Blessed Qiraji Augur Staff
Gloves of the Messiah [AQ40] (Princess Huhuran)
Don Rigoberto's Lost Hat [AQ40] (Ouro)
Ring of the Martyr [AQ40] (Princess Huhuran)
Cloak of Clarity [AQ40] C'Thun
Grasp of the Old God ` [AQ40] C'Thun
Amulet of the Fallen God [AQ40]

And from Nexx
Brimstone Staff Loatheb [Naxx]
and any 2 pieces of Vestments of Faith. This is a dream cos we've only downed 1 boss so far.

Dealing with off-specs (or being one) {WoW}

Oct 5th 2006 10:54AM I'm a Discipline Spec Priest and instead of +healing, I've focused on +mana regen gear. Currently I have +142 mana per 5 before buffs.

In my full mana regen gear I outlast any and all Priests in raids. True I have to use my max heal spells and my heals are not the highest in terms of dmg healed but you'll find that in all higher instances, +healing usually leads to over healing. (although there are places where its warrented)

Also, as long as 1/2 your priests in the raid are Discipline or Holy Priests, you have the luxuary of allowing the other 1/2 to be shadow. My guild has tested and confirmed this all the way to Nef.

Breakfast Topic: Who Are You? {WoW}

Sep 26th 2006 10:22AM I'm Alvin, 33 years old, a programming consultant in Minneapolis. Single but I just got 2 hamsters a couple of weeks ago.

Got a 60 human priest and been with the same guild since beta. We're farming MC & BWL and just downed our 1st Nexx boss (Instructor Reuz) 2-3 weeks ago. I'm probably one of the few in my guild who only has 1 lvl 60 char. But I've finally got my mage to 58. Oh and I'm Horde dumb. (I've only played horde in beta up till level 15.)

'Hardcore' raiding, one month in {WoW}

Sep 8th 2006 12:30PM Yep. I have to agree that hard core groups are not the only way to go. There are other guilds who are not "hard core" but still get to complete the higher level dungeons but at a slower pace.

It will take longer for sure, but the rules on attendance and gear and such are more lax, and more important is the environment is very friendly.

'Hardcore' raiding, one month in {WoW}

Sep 8th 2006 11:11AM Not all guilds are like that. I belong to Shadows Edge on Doomhammer. We're a mature raiding guild. Which means there is no min attendance requirements (Some only attend once every month, but most are regular). We operate under the assumption that our members are mature and have families and other obligations outside of WOW.

There's no min gear required, no must have mods installed (although most have CTRaid and Ventillo installed).

How do we fare against the more Hard core guilds? We've been around since WOW started, we started MC in July/Aug 2005, we made our first Neferion kill in July 2006. We raid Thur - Sun. MC is no longer part of our regular raiding schedule, and we clear BWL in 2 nights, currently working on AQ40.

Best of all, we're mostly all above 18 years old, most are 20+, 30+. Much fewer guild drama episodes than most guilds although it does occassionally happen. we have tons of fun on Vent while raiding.
