Gawker hack prompts Blizzard to issue password reset {WoW}

Dec 15th 2010 11:45AM As I'm capable of reading, the phony link you provided is easy to read.

I've trained total non-computer-savvy people on how to read a proper URL is less than five minutes.

People who get hacked without an authenticator did something wrong. Whether it's choosing a poor PW, not taking care of their computer, not safeguarding that PW, using the same PW in multiple locations, etc.

I've challenged people to hack my account since the authenticator nonsense became the widespread fear-mongering thing that clouded people's judgment, and to this day nobody's done it.

Make it gray, fanboys.

Gawker hack prompts Blizzard to issue password reset {WoW}

Dec 15th 2010 8:13AM Wow, Gawker sites are branching from reporting biased news to reporting biased news and causing security complications for their users.

Fortunately I swore off Gawker's nonsense websites long ago.

Authenticator still not required and still the biggest BS scare tactic employed by a game developer since... ever? Yeah, ever.

Vote it down, fanboys.

Alex Afrasiabi and Tom Chilton on Cataclysm {WoW}

Dec 10th 2010 2:46PM I like how some of you talk about wit like you know the first thing about it.

Anywho, yeah, my post was inflammatory. It was also accurate, except the part where I didn't mention Kalgan, who thinks that his game qualifies as a sport when sides are, BY DESIGN, uneven. So whoops on that one.

Hey don't y'all love how like/dislike systems prevent you from having to actually think? I know I do. I'm a lazy guy.

The Lawbringer: Buying precedent {WoW}

Oct 24th 2010 10:49PM Precedent works in many modern legal systems with their outdated and/or money-driven laws (the entire Digital Millennium Copyright Act), but it would be wholly unnecessary with more thoughtful, robust, clear laws.

Anywho, I hope Blizzard loses this case, for a multitude of reasons.

Canned rebuttal to people who thumb this down: suck it, fanboys.

Drama Mamas: When a guildie does something abhorrent {WoW}

Sep 11th 2010 5:19PM Um, anybody who doesn't "believe" in homosexuality IS a bigot. Because homosexuality is real, exists, and is, by virtue of existing, natural.

I don't have to "believe" you're a monstrous imbecile. You're a monstrous imbecile irregardless of my "beliefs."

Drama Mamas: When a guildie does something abhorrent {WoW}

Sep 11th 2010 2:13PM Two things.

1) The dude what abandoned and changed his story about the cat should be removed from the guild. WoW isn't a good enough game to keep obvious idiots like that dude aboard no matter what content you're trying to tackle or how good he is.

2) Every commenter saying how it's okay to abandon a *domesticated house pet that has been bred over generations to live with human freaking beings* needs a serious reality check. Domesticated animals are often bred for that very purpose, and leaving them in the wild is NOT putting them back into their natural environment. Every last one of you suggesting this is an imbecile of the highest caliber.

If you feel you can no longer take care of a domesticated pet, or if you simply no longer want to, take them to a shelter. They'll try to find them a home, or put them down (hopefully) humanely. That's an infinitely better solution than idiotic sentiments about what the word "animal" means.

Drama Mamas: When a guildie does something abhorrent {WoW}

Sep 11th 2010 2:07PM This is not an opinion. This is idiocy.

Drama Mamas: When a guildie does something abhorrent {WoW}

Sep 11th 2010 1:34PM @ Josh: You're an idiot.

Domesticated animals are bred and trained such that there "natural state" is to be in human homes.

Perhaps if you had used your brain instead of blurting out whatever nonsense first came to mind, you would have realized this.

Breakfast Topic: Are there atheists in Azeroth? {WoW}

Aug 30th 2010 12:38PM Atheism is a form of skepticism. It's simple really, and it's true whether or not people remain in denial: gods don't exist, and anyone claiming that gods do exist must provide empirical (not anecdotal) evidence.

In WoW, "gods" and "magic" DO exist, can be proven to exist, and have a real impact on people's lives.

But theism is not just belief in a deities, it's adherence to dogma. Atheism is a rejection of that.

If, in the real world, somebody did prove the Judeo-Christian God's existence true, I'd still be an atheist. Because if that god is real, he (or she, or it) is made of something, originated somewhere, and must, like anything else, prove it's arguments before gaining my trust.

Similarly, in WoW, the Naaru are real, the Legion is real, the Old Gods are real, but if I do not adhere to any of their associated dogmas, or the dogmas of any deity and/or philosophy, I'm still an atheist.

Hope that clears things up.
