Lichborne: The basics of leveling your death knight from 80 to 85 {WoW}

Nov 30th 2010 6:30PM And if you're leveling as Frost, don't forget to pick up Hungering Cold. A lot of people skip it as 'useless' in a raid environment but if you accidentally grab a few more mobs than you can handle burn your frost runes on Howling Blast then hit Hungering Cold.
You've now got a quite healthy buffer of time where they sit there and take disease damage, and you can hit that never-before-used "Bandage" button.
Plus, emergency AoE CC in a cata dungeon could be a real healer-saver :)

Lichborne: Death knight talents, specs and rotations for patch 4.0.1 {WoW}

Oct 12th 2010 8:38PM In drastically simple turns, you always want to have at least one of each pair of runes on cooldown so that Runic Empowerment procs aren't wasted.

The Queue: We killed Malygos edition {WoW}

Oct 6th 2010 12:48AM Currently all the extra stats offered by Engineering "Tinkers" have been removed, and they now stack with standard enchants.
So you can just put your Cata favorite enchant on your boots, and add the WotLK nitro boost tinker to it :)

The Queue: We killed Malygos edition {WoW}

Oct 6th 2010 12:46AM Question for the Queue :)

I've been playing and raiding since Vanilla, all three roles on various characters. However, I'm a clicky (and darned good at it) with very nearly the vanilla UI.
Can you suggest some nice, easy to setup mods for UI and Keybinding so that I can fix this oversight in the content gap before Cataclysm?

Gold Capped: Ask an auctioneer -- time is money {WoW}

Aug 26th 2010 2:33AM I don't know what it is, but I'm horrid at making money on the AH. I have a Grand Master of every profession bar Leatherworking & Enchanting (they're only Master), but no matter what market I try and get into, I never get anywhere.

Tried the Glyph market, checked what was selling on The Undermine and made four or so of half a dozen kinds of glyphs (decided to start small). I was selling around one glyph every three days, then it just stopped and I couldn't move anything. I tried halving the market price (selling for 20g rather than 40), didn't budge (even when I was the cheapest seller).
Tried selling cut gems, and this worked for a few days before the cuts that I could make that were profitable plummeted from 130g to 80g (same as uncut).
Eternal Belt Buckles? Sold a few, then suddenly and undercutting war starts and they're selling for 20g and pretty much mats price. This seems a common cycle for them.
Runescrolls of Fort? Managed to sell three stacks, and it took a week and a half to move them at a profit.
Titanium plating/spikes? Never seem to go above mats price (at least not when I'm looking).
Investigated the Epic arrows market. After a fortnight of watching I found that on a good day like Wednesday or Saturday they'll make around a 1g/stack profit, and some days sell for less than mats price.
Tried the 'sell cooking patterns' route that a friend used to get enough gold in a few weeks for her Grand Mammoth. One day in all prices crash (50g to 50s kind of crash) as four others leap into the market.

Verdict seems to be that I suck at the WoW Market =)

The Queue: Dapper dog {WoW}

Aug 3rd 2010 8:52PM One question I'd love to know the answer to: Are the Dungeon Tier 0 pierces still available and are the upgrade quests still implemented, or have we lost that piece of history (and awesome looks).
My Goblin Rogue really wants his Darkmantle set....

Cataclysm Beta: New blacksmithing items revealed {WoW}

Jul 1st 2010 1:48AM Except all the data mined items are post "Cataclysm stat adjustment", so it's pretty meaningless comparing them to the current stuff.
While the ilvl on the crafted items is certainly a huge jump, we don't know that similar things won't happen when the stat adjustments happen.

WoW 5th Anniversary Giveaway: Spectral Kitten loot code {WoW}

Nov 23rd 2009 6:46PM *Squee*
Kitty is incredibly cute :)

Chill of the Throne: Dodge nerfed 20% in Icecrown Citadel {WoW}

Oct 29th 2009 10:56PM It won't cause any more issues *avoidance* wise to DKs/Bears etc, but it will cause threat issues for DKs, since we'll be having around 40% less Rune Strikes than we currently do.
How big this difference will be remains to be seen.

Nerfing DK avoidance nerfs DK threat the same way that nerfing Druid crit would reduce Druid mitigation :)

Chill of the Throne: Dodge nerfed 20% in Icecrown Citadel {WoW}

Oct 29th 2009 10:46PM This will have interesting implications for DK threat. ~40% reduction in the number of Rune Strikes for most high-geared DK tanks.
