Scattered Shots: Yes, beast mastery can raid {WoW}

Aug 4th 2011 4:09PM If you're raid is missing a buff, I'd bring it. In the example you gave, the extra physical damage may not seem like a huge benefit, but every bit helps. The DK tank, the druid, the rogue, you, your pet...they are all doing physical damage. Perhaps it's not the majority of the damage, but it's still significant.

I think it's worth keeping in mind that although there is some flawed 'common knowledge' out there working against the BM spec, it is ultimately the responsibility of the hunter to disprove those misconceptions.

My advice to any hunter seeking to raid as BM, and to gain respect for the spec in general, is to make sure you're doing it for the right reasons. Raid as BM because you enjoy it, but also because it's the right decision for your raid. If your raid and/or raid leaders are skeptical regarding BM's damage output, prove them otherwise. However, if there is a fight where BM is truly a disadvantage, be willing to switch to an off spec. If you're raid is missing buffs, bring the right pet, even if it means not showing off your favorite spirit beast.
Beast Master hunters can be fairly enthusiastic and dedicated to their spec of choice, but sometimes that dedication can work against you. If we want to change the general perception of the BM spec, we have to not only do our best to show the potential it brings, but also to show that we're flexible and reasonable enough to recognize and adjust when our favorite spec isn't the right tool for the job.

Scattered Shots: Hunter community resources {WoW}

Jul 21st 2011 3:35PM The TKA Something forums ( http://forums.tkasomething.com/index.php ), are worth a look for hunters seeking to share information with a supportive, helpful community. The main site does not seem to have been updated in quite a while, and while the forums aren't as active as they once were, there is still some good information to be found there.

For some reason, I find this comment rather amusing.

It will, by default, also track many more things you may not be interested in knowing but those can be easily turned off.

I've also used ForteXorcist to track the same information in the past, but found it a bit too complicated for my needs.

I'm sure there are many more options out there that will have the same function as well.
