Dev Watercooler: Mists of Pandaria looting explained {WoW}
Mar 27th 2012 1:22PM It's the same as "destined gear" from SWTOR normal raids (and I'm sure from other MMO's as well.) And finally they cave to AOE looting. They really should have done it for Cata when they first developed it and then removed it. I don't know why they resist these Quality of Live changes for as long as they do.
This also helps with the cutting-edge farming problems we had at the start of this tier. They can no longer stack raids with alts and get the set-bonus gear to the mains who need it.
...and that is like the weirdest tea-party ever.

Mar 21st 2012 1:35PM "If you're new to rogues.... You want to experience what the rogue class has to offer while also performing at a level that won't have your dungeonmates kicking you at their earliest convenience."
"Check back next week for details on how to squeeze the other 20% out of your combat rogue!"
^ This is a guide for people new to Rogue. Perhaps a fresh SoR 80, someone dusting off an old toon, or just someone totally new to WoW. It's just the basic rotation.
Having just gotten a friend into the game, I wish I had one of these guides for Warlocks.
The Queue: The sins of the father {WoW}
Mar 21st 2012 12:30PM I may be putting TOO much faith in the WoW writers (they can spew out some drivel sometimes,) but I think it's more likely to be tied into the Sha and/or some Pandalandaria themed thing rather than sucking the power out of some demon or old god. They like plot tie-ins.
(Even though I said when they they made that Garrosh character model they had used the same color pallete that they used for Cho'Gall and pondered if he too would go old-god crazy.)

Andres pointed out examples.

THIS is the thing that ANNOYED the hell out of me most of all with Cataclysm. Not even to get the whole story, but to even understand the scattered quests and storylines that were given to us in game (*that we paid for*) -- we had to purchase tie-in merchandise.
I wish some of the WoW/gaming news outfits would have pressed some of the tougher questions rather than the usual softball questions, but... ya know, they want to get invited back next time.
Transmogrification, the hottest new game of dress-up {WoW}
Mar 14th 2012 5:30PM I lurve transmog for this reason.
If the current tier is good, I want to show it off, but I also I want to MATCH!
Like we have that awkward period between tiers when you have the old stuff and then start to get the new set too. Or like Prot and Ret Paladins have a problem in that their belts, shoes, and off tier items don't usually match the regular tier. You get a lil DK tier here and a lil Warrior tier there.
Being done with t-13 MS and OS purchases.. I went and blew the 6k Valor points I had accumulated on T13 warrior matchy bits so I could make my tank set look great. I had the legs crafted for the tank-set too. So my tank set is mostly Warrior T13 and my healing set is Pally T13. Kinda like good and evil.
10 death knights kill heroic Ragnaros {WoW}
Mar 14th 2012 11:45AM This particular feat is courtesy of an OP 4pc Blood DK tier set. That x9 plus the Blood DK self healing means no need for healers. Also remember that DK's get a dps buff on the fight by using Dark Sim on rag and duplicating his knockback spell.
Blood, 4P -- Your Vampiric Blood ability also affects all party and raid members for 50% of the effect it has on you.
Vampiric Blood
1 min cooldown
Temporarily grants the Death Knight 15% of maximum health and increases the amount of health received from healing spells and effects by 25% for 10 sec. After the effect expires, the health is lost.
Still pretty cool tho.
Warriors and Paladin tanks don't have the healing ability. A gaggle of feral Druids might be able to pull this off tho. A mixed group of all 3/4 classes of Paladins or Druids would also work.
Officers' Quarters: Rock bottom {WoW}
Mar 12th 2012 12:28PM >"at the peak of the guild activity we could only get about 7 people together and getting everyone motivated to get their item level up high enough to attempt a raid was even tougher! "
Raiding with family and friends can be difficult and oftentimes unsatisfing if you're looking to progress -- even if that progression is just getting 10 people geared enough to think about going into a raid instance.
I'm having this issue right now:
One of my buddies just got back into wow and he wants to do things together. He was very rusty to start off with (I was doing more damage with lb regen on my resto shaman than he was doing on his ret paladin) but he swapped to a caster and has gotten better. (I was proud of him because he did LFR by himself the other night.)
To complicate issues he's only interested in playing on his current server and staying in the guild that he and another mutual friend from outside of wow created. With the new-cross realm raiding thing I can do dungeons and old raids with him, but trying to boost him with gold, gear, etc.. isn't gonna happen.
Usually there is a skill divide between what the player is capable and what the person who desires to raid can do. There's a lot of time that you have to put into learning and gearing a toon. This is what old content, LFR, and 5 mans are for.
If you want to do more progressed content you're going to have to give up the notion of raiding with ONLY people you know IRL. If you want to raid, even super casually... find a guild with people who are of your own skill level and who want to put the same amount of time into the game.
If you want to do things with friends -- keep your current guild going and run old content with -- play with the gbank, give them funny ranks, etc..
Have your cake and eat it too.
Encrypted Text: More rogue poison news from Ghostcrawler {WoW}
Mar 7th 2012 7:47PM Technically you should add DK's and Mages to the mix too... Vanq tokens.
At least your Holy Paladin doesn't have as much gear competetion... as long as they put Monks on the Protector tokens.

As they say in France... "Des goƻts et des couleurs, on ne dispute pas"... but I find this more palatable than yesterday's video that got a mostly positive review.
