15 Minutes of Fame: When WoW meets real-world religion, part 2 {WoW}

Sep 22nd 2010 3:38AM Going a bit off-topic here, but I do believe that Arthas was never in need of redemption - while it appeared as if he was corrupted, it was in fact he that held back the scourge while the players fought Illidan, and I believe that he was the one who held part of the Lich King's power back. For me, Arthas and the Lich King are two separate beings, the Lich King being the one who controls his host and wishes to destroy Azeroth, and Arthas being the one who actually prevented him from going all out (after all, even when the Lich King was defeated, Tirion wanted to have someone else placed on his throne to hold back the Scourge, since even the remnants of the undead, without any commander, were a Big Threat).

Forsaken World readies first closed beta test {Massively}

Sep 17th 2010 12:24AM PWE games aren't AAA at all, but they still stand out from the dozens of f2p games on the market. Now, there are even better options (DDO, LoTRO), but back when f2p wasn't the model every dev was jumping on, Perfect World was one game that stood out as relatively fun, with deep customization and quests all the way to the high levels.

Man in the middle attacks circumventing authenticators {WoW}

Feb 28th 2010 3:10PM I don't understand it also. You can't have 2 people logged in at the same time, so basically if they try to use my authenticator code they have to kick me out of the account or not let me log in, which means that I will automatically be alerted of the hacking and just relog (possibly from a different PC) to kick them out. So..how?

Steam offers up a bunch of great last-minute MMO deals {Massively}

Dec 24th 2009 2:56PM No need for that, the trial stacks with the 30 days. You can buy it right after creating the trial account, and you wont be limited by the trial restrictions while still having 44 days.

NIDA Online wants you to bathe in numbers {Massively}

Sep 23rd 2009 8:23AM Developers too quickly decided that free means "make a game for free". I mean, many games aren't even translated, I can still see some japanese pop up from time to time, and the existing translations are sometimes plain weird. I have never prepared a game for the eastern audience, but when you decide to move your chinese mmo to europe, one of the main things (and maybe one of the only things) to do is to translate it.
On topic, at least the story is something different from "The god of creation created bad things, locked 'em deep down, made humans, and then misteriously died. After that, bad things came back up."
