Feb 20th 2012 6:40PM Sorry, I think the author of this article is starting with a bad assumption.
Killing bosses is not a means to the end of getting gear. Getting gear is the means to the end of killing bosses. Big difference.
Nov 22nd 2011 7:30AM You answered your own question: Blizzard's engineers have lives outside of Warcraft too, and spending a long weekend at Blizzard's beck and call, fixing crashes, doing hot fixes, is not their idea of how to enjoy Thanksgiving weekend (if they are in town at all).
Jul 12th 2011 11:48AM I haven't healed as a level 80 since Wrath, so your mileage may vary, but...
The biggest difference between Wrath healing and Cataclysm healing is that as your base mana grows (and as you level to 85, it will grow quickly), so does the mana cost of your spells. Because of this, mana conservation is very important.
While raiding in Wrath, my resto shaman exclusively used Lesser Healing Wave (now Healing Surge) and Greater Healing Wave as single-target heals. Mana cost wasn't an issue, so Healing Wave wasn't even on my action bar. Try that in Cataclysm, and you'll run out of mana very quickly.
In addition, at least at the beginning of Cataclysm, there was a lot of standing in fire because people didn't know the fights. Fights were a race of DPS vs. the healer's mana pool.
Things have settled down since, but in cutting-edge content, mana conservation is still the name of the game for any healer.
Nov 23rd 2010 6:02PM I have the same problem.
I'm on a Mac, if that makes any difference. Has anyone experienced the problem on a PC?
Sep 2nd 2010 10:01PM I've done the same thing on my resto shaman: OOM, already used my mana potion, Mana Tide Totem, etc., so I kill myself and Reincarnate with more mana.
Mar 29th 2010 8:17PM I'm surprised you're recommending Rockbiter Weapon past level 10. Flametongue Weapon doesn't just add fire damage, but it also adds a significant amount of spell power to LB, FS, and ES.
Dec 13th 2009 1:06PM The one thing you didn't mention about the final fight in HoR is that there are four (on Heroic, anyway) ice walls that Arthas will put up to block the escape. Because the ice walls go down as soon as the adds are cleared, and because of the number of adds on the fourth ice wall, cooldowns (e.g., Heroism/Bloodlust) should be saved for that last wall.
Nov 30th 2009 11:58AM There are two other sources for Shoulder Enchants:
(1) If you have some leftover reagents and got to Honored with Aldor/Scryers. It's a stopgap measure, admittedly. Of course, if you made it to Exalted with them, their exalted enchants are basically identical to the Honored enchants that SoH have.
(2) The Inscription shoulder enchants are far better than any you can get from SoH.
