Shifting Perspectives: Balance spells redesigned in Cataclysm {WoW}

Oct 30th 2010 12:31AM "But why wouldn't balance druids want to keep Owlkin Frenzy for PvE? All the talent does is increase damage done, provided you are taking specific forms of damage."

Please provide some evidence that Owlkin Frenzy will only proc off "specific forms of damage." Running through ICC numerous times since 4.0 I can tell you that it procs off EVERYTHING and not just specific types of damage or attacks directed only at me. Slime Spray in Rotface, the spore and gas on Festergut are two examples.

If it only proc'd off physical damage then it would be half useless in pvp.

It increases damage done by 10% and eliminates pushback, why don't you think this is a useful talent? And the best part, it can just keep procing and everytime it does the duration resets. Maybe a stacking buff would work better.

This is not just a pvp talent anymore unless Blizzard changes it again.

Shifting Perspectives: The 4.0.1 balance rotation {WoW}

Oct 16th 2010 12:46PM "Attacks done to you while in Moonkin form have a 15% chance to cause you to go into a Frenzy, increasing your damage by 10% and causing you to be immune to pushback while casting Balance spells. Lasts 10 sec."

Actual text of the Talent. No where in there does it say the attacks have to target you directly. On Rotface, last night: Slime Spray, Slime pools, and even the little AOE shots the kited ooze throws as its moving around proc'd Owlkin Frenzy. On Fester: Pungent Blight (only one I recall). Before PP: The insect swarn set it off A LOT just over and over and over. During PP: the explosion from the green ooze, being targeted but the orange ooze, standing in a slime pools, mailable goo.

I recall hearing the "enrage" sound before that but I didn't notice it was Owlkin Frenzy until the Plague Wing. I know it went off in BQ a few times, especially after I was bitten.

I didn't think it would useful at first either but it is...so don't run off and start calling for it to be nerf'd. Why someone who plays a class so often demands it be nerf'd is beyond me.

Oct 16th 2010 12:28AM With all of the AoE in ICC, bosses and trash, I really don't understand why you'd waste points in Dreamstate and not put anything into Owlkin Frenzy. I rarely, if ever, use Innervate on myself while raiding. I can see Dreamstate maybe being worthwhile while leveling but definitely not in raiding ICC. 15%, 3/3 in Owlkin Frenzy, is not a high number but I just finish HMs ICC 10 and Owlkin Frenzy proc multiple time during every fight, even trash.

That 10% increased damage and pushback immunity was a hell of a lot more useful than 30% more mana when I use Innervate on myself...which I never do.
