Cataclysm Post-Mortem: Uldum, page 2 {WoW}

Dec 12th 2011 6:05PM Personally I don't get all the Harrison Jones hate, the questline itself was fun; it's just the overbogging crappy cutscenes at almost every moment that really makes it less fun.

Also you're pretty damn overreaching and overinterpreting if you're seriously trying to grab racism out of it...I mean wow, is that all some of you people can think of, how best to interpret racism in the game for the sake of political correctness or something? Yeesh...as for me, I see no racism whatsoever.

Artwise of course, the area is beautiful, always loved the Egyptian motif. And for what it's worth, Deepholm is the shittiest zone, that crap is just overly large and boring; could've easily streamlined that and shortened the zone. No FPs there also made it kinda stupid.

Dec 5th 2011 8:05PM Anyone else still a bit annoyed Horde got essentially a new sub faction to join them with the Taunka, whereas Alliance dealt with walrus men...who were neutral to both sides.

Watch Cataclysm's ending cinematic {WoW}

Dec 1st 2011 3:55AM Right...strikes me as dumb/stupid. I mean, you're telling me they lost all of their power fighting one batshit insane brother, and now there are no more aspects with power? Despite the fact they themselves are imbued with the Titan's power? Give me a break...sure it's their lore, they can do whatever they want with it, but it doesn't mean that quite a few of us will think of it as rather stupid (much like the whole "there must always be a lich king" bid).

Aggra pregnant, meh, weak attempt to give a 2 bit minor character importance. Thrall/Jaina was better anyways.

Pandaria to eschew capital cities for scattered vendors, separate faction hubs {WoW}

Oct 27th 2011 9:01PM Personally...I really don't give a damn about world pvp and pvp in general (hence why I play on a pve server), though I guess if you're on a pvp server, it'd be nice.

Oct 27th 2011 7:15PM Razer Nostromo, want.

Patch 4.3: Raid Finder loot rules updated {WoW}

Oct 7th 2011 4:26PM In all honesty? It still doesn't solve anything within tank-dps (and for some, healer-dps sets) sets unless they're now specifically trying to itemize stuff and the fact for the whole expansion they've been trying to homogenize everything.

Consider the following: most tanks now like mastery. Most DPS like mastery. Items with Mastery can have hit, crit, haste, etc etc right? Guess what? Both classes are going to need on them. The only "tanking" relics these days are items with Dodge and Parry, which are still being avoided as suboptimal by tanks unless they have Mastery; give a tank a choice between Mastery/Crit and Dodge/Crit, I'm willing to bet they're going to want the Mastery/Crit item more, which in a broadly more traditional sense, would otherwise be a DPS item. So depending on how they classify "epic tanking item", it could end up just leading to more infighting since tanks will want the item with mastery since it's more attractive than dodge/parry, and dps want it obviously for the better stats, but at the same time don't want/can't take the tanking item anyways because of the very unfriendly stats of dodge and parry. In yet another example, this rule does nothing for bear tanks either, as Dodge-bearing leather obviously doesn't exist anymore, so they're screwed no matter what in having to roll evenly against DPS specs of feral (cat) and rogue.

And let's not even get started on how Boomkins and Ele shammys both desire Spirit now (normally a healer only stats) for hit; how can you possibly do that without blatant favoritism of healers, assuming healers would get the extra +100 to their roll on items with Spirit. So in a roll off, this is basically telling Boom and Ele to go screw themselves?

Finally, what this system doesn't address obviously is main spec/off spec either; to give an example, if I'm a moonchicken (and thus flagged as dps) and I have a feral offspec, I can roll Need on both agil and int leather and probably get +100 to my roll by the sound of it since it only differentiates by role, not spec. Sure, I might be kicked, but as there's no lockout for raid finder, I can just queue up again with no penalty and be up one item and ready to ninja more.

Really I guess no matter what, everyone's going to be complaining on any end as this really does end up yet being another Blizz fault; homgenization of stats to make them good for everyone and a poor loot system will do that. I really don't see Raid Finder becoming good for anything except the desperate who will want to put up somehow with the rather sickening amounts of problems that can happen, not just limited to gear; you're far more likely to also get idiots who stand in fire and such, so unless every fight in raid finder is literally nerfed to tank and spank, so many wipes are gonna happen...

Patch 4.3: Worgen racial mounts {WoW}

Sep 1st 2011 8:21PM Definitely pretty boring, and yet another example of how lazy/unmotivated Blizz is. Horse just in general are pretty damn boring; unless you're a Paladin with their chargers, I don't think I've ever seen anyone riding a horse mount, let alone go out of their way to grind rep to ride one. Even the armored ones given out for like ToC and the RBGs and such are kinda lame, when you consider the Horde equivalent (Orcs and wolves) are much neater.

Seriously, why not dig up those "war hogs" from the concept are and let worgen ride them? Granted, I thought they were a tad silly, but it's still something different and fun. I mean, Goblin trikes, those are fun and worth grinding if non-goblin as (from purely a looks perspective) they're far cheaper to get for a motorcycle feel than a mechano-hog, whose only benefit is seating someone else (which given this day and age of flying and summoning anywhere, is almost near useless).

Regardless, meh. My worgen looks badass enough riding his ZG raptor mount; now werewolves on raptors? That's badass. Werewolves riding horses bareback? That's pretty damn lame.

Drama Mamas: Should guilds mandate courtesy? {WoW}

Aug 29th 2011 5:03PM I too disagree with this article for the most part; while in the person's case it could be true there's a clique problem or people avoiding gchat (for whatever odd reason), but the letter writer definitely fails to outline anything beyond officer complaining. And to be honest, is not saying "grats" really that upsetting to people? I mean, I personally do it, but most of the time it just feels like an automated response when I type it, there's no meaning behind it (and I secretly think it's pretty damn pointless unless they've actually achieved something significant, like a first ding to 85, not some stupid exploration achieve or one of the many other numerous stupid ones). Hell, there are even addons out there that will specifically throw in a grats message of your choosing if you're that lazy.

So yeah, to me the notion that stuff like grats, hellos, etc are wasted unless you actually mean it; getting a standard faux reply just because someone feels obligated is dumb. I'll say hello to people I know within the guild, not every random I don't know who happens to be a part. And grats when they actually do something worth congratulating.

Phat Loot Phriday: Firemind Pendant {WoW}

Jul 23rd 2011 1:13AM @ Eregos ftw!

Remind me, if your analysis is soooo accurate, why does spirit plate exist again noob? Last time I check, exactly ONE spec of ONE class could use it, whereas Spirit Cloth is useful for at least 2 specs of one class, and I'll take a well optimized, geared healer over another generic DPS cloth-wearer any day.

Personally, I think the question should be, why aren't they considering making Spirit either useful for DPS specs in adding hit or something, like what Ele and Moonkin are forced to talent into for the benefit, otherwise your statement of spirit on Leather and Mail armor being useful for those caster classes is incorrect.
