Dec 12th 2009 4:20PM The new system has made leveling alot more varied, whereas previously you could wait all night trying to get a group for a classic instance, it takes 2 mins now. Its opened up a 3rd valid type of leveling, you can grind out quests, battlegrounds or instances, or all three!
So far though the average patience of a low level instance runner is around 2 wipes, after that ive found many people just teleport out. Especially if you are in Gnomeregan or similier.
Oct 7th 2009 1:19PM As a through and through casual player I dont mind this change but a thought does occur to me.
With the announcement of the next expansion, people are clamouring for it to be released as soon as possible. I wonder if by letting everybody have a bash at Icecrown straight away by giving away so called "welfare epics", is it going to have a detrimental impact on the player population as we wait for Cataclysm, with many more people thinking that they have done everything wotlk has to offer, and just taking an extended break?
Oct 1st 2009 7:03PM Although I appreciate the streamlining changes, I'm hoping that they pour this much effort and storyline motivations into level 30-50. As things stand this band of levelling really feels like a uphill battle with little direction. The dilution of "landmark" levels, i.e. mounts moving from 40 to 20 etc, those mid level grinds can be off-putting unless there are strong storylines and/or tangible rewards for the intrepid adventurer.
