Breakfast Topic: PC voices {WoW}

Apr 6th 2010 12:18PM Blood elf males. Voiced by one of my favorite voice actors of all time, Cam Clarke.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0164682/

He was Leonardo in TMNT, Liquid Snake in the MGS series, and tons of other voices in anime, games... stuff that I grew up with.

I recognized that voice the moment I heard it. "Liquid Snake!?!?!" and my blood elf mage suddenly replaced my human rogue as my main and I never looked back.

WoW.com Guest Post: From manners to mechanics: Five tips for DPS in heroics {WoW}

Feb 10th 2010 12:14PM One exception to the "its dps's fault no matter what..." rule is when a tank uses aggro dumping in their rotation. I had a group wipe a few times the other day because the paladin tank kept bubbling. The team had to inform him that his bubble and his hand of protection (yeah, he was using that too) was dumping aggro on us.

Anyway... yeah, watch your aggro. It's not hard. Crank back a bit. Weave in some support spells when necessary, like decursing and interrupting/silencing.

Breakfast Topic: The future of the Horde {WoW}

Oct 30th 2009 9:25PM I find it odd that people see the Forsaken's induction to the Horde and Sylvanas's trust in a Dreadlord as completely stupid and unwarranted. As if *all* our capital cities weren't overrun by Death Knights, former members of Arthas's elite corps.

If you don't believe the Forsaken deserved a chance at redemption as suggested by the Earthen Ring, march your DK's to the Stormwind stockade right now, log off, and leave them there.

Breakfast Topic: The future of the Horde {WoW}

Oct 30th 2009 7:59PM I can appreciate people really enjoying playing the alliance. I get it. I'm not gonna lie, on a scale of Burning Legion to Naaru, the Alliance are imho certainly more "good" than the Horde. That's why I can't identify with them though. My own country's history is definitely more a mixture of moral triumph and tyranny than the Alliance. I like the turmoil that goes on in the Horde. I'm also a sucker for redemption storylines, i.e. Orcs and Mannoroth, Blood Knights... even Undead members of Argent Crusade/Dawn.

That being said, I'm not considering changing sides for 2 reasons:
a) Blizzard has already hinted that Garrosh will have redeeming qualities we haven't even seen yet. He is the son of Grom after all, a paragon of redemption.
b) All my friends play Horde :-)

Breakfast Topic: The Lessons of the Wrathgate {WoW}

Oct 2nd 2009 6:24PM "You can make the claim that it was a rebel faction of the Forsaken who blah blah"

I didn't.

Also, I kinda don't care what happened to Varian. It's what he's doing now that matters. The Forsaken had their kingdom sacked. Everyone killed, they themselves killed, then enslaved. That doesn't make what they do today forgivable.

Everyone in the game has loads to be angry at the other faction for. But not everyone is a king with the ability to bring about another world war. If it weren't for Jaina and Thrall, well, the experiments in Undercity would be the least of everyone's problems.

He needs a pacifier and nap. And judging by your tone, you do too.

(I'm kidding. I love you, dude.)

Breakfast Topic: The Lessons of the Wrathgate {WoW}

Controlling 5 races across two continents who've had their homelands and way of life destroyed is not the same as controlling *ones own emotions* for the sake of avoiding all out war. Everyone has lost something/someone in the decades of war. Wrynn is not special in that respect. What is special is that he'd risk open war all over again because he can't control himself. So, I think the emo charge has a little merit.

Oct 2nd 2009 12:59PM I think organization matters. People compare Varian to Thrall yet hold Thrall to this much higher standard :/

Breakfast Topic: The Lessons of the Wrathgate {WoW}

Oct 2nd 2009 12:32PM Wait what?

"As Warchief, he possesses an absolute role of leadership the Alliance lacks..."

Does Sylvanas know this? Has anyone told the Blood Elves? Let me see that Constitution! Seriously, I really wonder if this is true at all for the latest members of the Horde.

I don't think it makes Thrall any less a leader for not knowing of every conspiracy going on in Horde controlled territory. Likewise, I don't fault Bolvar for not noticing Onyxia in the throne room for all those years. These are sneaky adversaries we're dealing with here. When Thrall goes off to save the Horde (again) and the planet at large, and Garrosh stages his coup* or whatever, no doubt people will blame Thrall for lax leadership.

* It had better be a coup. If title of Warchief is *handed* to him, well... I think my head might explode.
