Colonize the New World: Salem opens beta sign-ups {Massively}

Mar 23rd 2012 6:40PM If you sign up for the beta here I will not do anything special.

Vanguard going free-to-play this summer, beefs up dev team {Massively}

Mar 21st 2012 4:06PM It's about time! Maybe now this awesome game will get the attention that it deserves, not only from SOE but from MMORPG gamers!

The Daily Grind: Do you miss player-written books in MMOs? {Massively}

Mar 10th 2012 1:03PM Oh yeah I do. I was in a well known RP guild on the Atlantic shard in Ultima Online (Knights of Sosaria) back in the day, and it was a great tool for player driven story. I owned the large keep in what is now Felucca, in the player driven town called Elysium next to the Wandering Wisp Tavern. I used to read every book that i came across in the game. I remember one time following a lone of riddles all across the world in books that someone had made. The houses the books were in were set up to tell a story and had clues and whatnot in them. It was so awesome.... it's a nearly dead art form in most MMORPGs now.

CCP's North American president steps down {Massively}

Feb 28th 2012 12:41PM No matter what this news really means I really feel like White Wolf consistently is getting the crap end of the stick... I was a WW fan WAY before I was a CCP fan and I really want to see them succeed and release a proper World of Darkness MMORPG. Initially I felt like CCP was the right company to help make that happen but ever since last years endless cycle of debacles I feel like CCP have neglected White Wolf. Is this latest news indications of this? No one here including myself really knows for sure, but it sure as heck doesn't look good...

The Firing Line: Derek Smart on Line of Defense {Massively}

Feb 17th 2012 10:37PM Pay to Win is a terrible model for a competitive FPS... I can't even begin to comprehend how they thought this was a good idea. As for Mr Smart, I have no comment. I am pretty sure if anyone bothers to Google him they will find all the information that they need to form an opinion on their own.

The Daily Grind: What dead game would you play in a second if it revived? {Massively}

Feb 12th 2012 6:01PM Earth & Beyond is by far and away my first choice, followed by Tabula Rasa. And I'm sorry but these janky, third party emulators that people have made do not count. I want a fully supported and developed product, not some dude set up in his moms attic.

Earthrise shutting down today {Massively}

Feb 9th 2012 2:38PM That is really sad. There is potential there, but IMO an indy coming into the current market really needs to look closely at the freemium model as they simply will not find an audience for a subscription model anymore. People see all the titles opening up F2P or switching and they are coming to expect it now.

Cryptic and Perfect World release STO F2P trailer {Massively}

Jan 18th 2012 11:10AM If you install this game for the love of God don't forget to uninstall Pando Media Booster when you're done. That crap literally tried to disable part of my AV/Security software this time... I am giving the game a look again. I haven't looked at it since a month or so after it launched, but I'm not expecting much. My main gripe was that it really did a disservice to the Star Trek IP and did a terrible job representing it. Not to mention the shallowness and bugs... but at least I'm giving it another chance.

Raph Koster: Immersion is not a core game virtue {Massively}

Jan 13th 2012 10:07PM Immersion is a core virtue in the games that I play and want to play. Just because this one man has given up on the industry and caved to what makes him the most money doesn't mean there isn't a place for immersion in gaming and the MMO space anymore. Koster is a sellout and a Facebook hack.

Funcom releases Secret World Illuminati teaser {Massively}

Jan 12th 2012 8:17PM Any true scotch aficionado (purist) will tell you that you never sully the pure taste of a good scotch with water, especially ice... although Antarctic ice may seem like a good choice for it's purity, it still anesthetizes the tongue and kills the flavor and deeper complexities of the scotch. If you only read one comment on this article, read and understand this one...
