Dec 17th 2009 9:46AM Short answer: No
Long answer: Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
That would be a HUGE step too far. Points above cover it. Gear abuse, the removal of any requirement to play a class that's geared to all hell. It is in a word, terrible.
Dec 1st 2009 1:16PM You make some assumptions that are a bit too much of a leap.
If you have another reference to Serrar being "blade" then fair enough.
Serrar could mean anything though. Just because Quel'Serrar has the TITLE of "The High Blade" doesn't mean it's called "high blade". In the same way "The love fool" doesn't mean that "lol" = "the", "you" = "love" and "suck" = "fool" in the full name and title lolyousuck the love fool.
Your observation of "Quel" meaning "High" is of course correct though.
Before getting all righteous and "omgblizzfailsatlorerofl" you might want to think about your arguement a bit :)
Oct 31st 2009 2:05PM Had one since around february time. Had the squeaky/locking buttons but that can be fixed (yes you shouldn't have to but it's not hard). Had zero issues with the mouse since. It's NOT perfect and it did feel a little fragile on first use (was a bizzare shift from the lachesis i was using at the time) but now feels incredably natural. The extra buttons are a huge boon.
While I looked at the new razer (and actually pre-ordered which I later cancelled) the fact it's just a mouse with a mini numpad on the side was kind of a downer for me, steelseries at least tried to put buttons in various useful points. I'm a big fan of razer mice (owned the lachesis and have a habu also) but this one seems to be a little too basic on the design aspect.
For those with squeaking buttons on the steelseries:
Slide a fingernail down the front of the slim button to the side of the scrollwheel (on whichever side you have the sticking problem), hook the fingernail under the front edge of the button (this will mean you have the left/right mainbutton down but no problem) and relatively gently pull the button up and back towards your palm. Don't be daft on how hard you do it, it's not like you're trying to remove the button. Repeat a few times and you should find the issue fixed. I had left mouse locking completely and the squeak on the right was driving me insane, all fine now.
Oct 6th 2009 11:41AM Well, looking at all the bits so far:
1) We have a quest to re-forge an old weapon. Old weapons are always stupidly powerful. The quests seem to have lore figures doubting we can weild the weapon without destroying everything AND we go visit the dragon queen's consort as part of the quest line so it's definitely got something going for it.
2) We dip it in the Sunwell, thats like taking a minigun and making the ammo shoot uranium tipped rounds.
3) We visit Arthas's bedroom with either Jaina (possibly the most powerful living spellcaster) or Sylvanna's (possibly the most homicidal female in existance, think about that for a moment. She's female, undead, hard as nails and pissed off, yeah i'd be scared too)
4) The quest chain speculation so far has something to do with messing up the frozen throne in some way.
All that considered here's my speculation: We are going with Jaina/Sylv to take a VERY strong, reforged weapon to screw Arthas enough that a full attack is possible.
Oct 1st 2009 12:16AM Just because you WILL have this issue unless they have significantly improved the build quality:
When the mouse starts squeaking and the buttons locking up slide a finger nail down the front of the 2 extra left/right buttons and drag the button towards the back of the mouse. They are pretty sturdy and you don't need to go ape with it.
I was about ready to throw mine in the bin, had a play with it like so and has now worked like a charm (had it since around Christmas I think, had it on pre-order so early doors but not the FIRST batch).
Sep 22nd 2009 2:46PM I'm assuming this is a given but does anyone know if she also coughs up Triumph badges? A quick "of course you muppet!" will suffice :)
Sep 5th 2009 5:01AM Dear Garrosh,
I was wondering if you had eaten any good books lately and could recommend anything light for a lunch-time snack.
Aug 12th 2009 5:21AM Paladin.
Mines not quite in the original thrust of the question to invoke comment but Paladin was my first ever toon, levelled to 60 and raided fairly extensively (saw first couple of bosses in each wing of Naxx back in the day). Before BC came out I was thoroughly SICK of pally healing, re-rolled a Rogue and never looked back.
With the tweaks/changes etc to protection (and remembering a guild tank who turned up to basically solo a couple of harder group quests for me on my rogue) I decided to give it a crack and my god I LOVE playing prot. I happily admit it's probably one of the easier classes to play, the amount of tricks a pally has + the general hardiness of a tank combines to be a monster.
I still raid heavilly as my rogue (7k dps on a "stand and kill it" type fight) along with officer duties for my guild with the same but theres a VERY good chance my guilds gained a new tank come Cataclysm. The amount of solo work he can do is head and shoulder above my rogue.
TL:DR: I played a pally, hated it, was pleasantly suprised when I picked it back up and tanked with it.
Aug 11th 2009 4:47AM How to make 31 bosses doable without a raid lock extension:
3 or 4 wings. Collect the gems/rings/trinkets/chicken wings to make the broach/knuckleduster/tinkers bag/mega bucket and viola! You can now face Arthas (after facing his guardians).
Personally I can see Icecrown being more than just the citadel. There are several forts along with the way that could easilly house gate-keeper bosses.
Blizz: PLEASE don't mess this up. 9/10 on chances to be utterly epic-o-meter.
Aug 6th 2009 3:41PM Mine's also from TBC.
Spent around 3 months with Mologrim trying my hardest to get the damn Talon of Azshara. It's a SICK SICK looking sword and had an amazingly nice balance of stats on it too (and the slower speed that rogues obviously love).
All this time from about a week n a bit into TBC and picking up the Aldor 1H sword/lampshade I was stuck with the same crappy sword. No Spiteblade either which would have been a reasonable enough replacement.
In the end Vashj was killed with me Weilding DRAGONSTRIKE. Overall, not the worst thing that could happen but levelling smithing (from 0) for a decent mainhand after ~5/6 months of the same crappy sword was rather annoying. Around 2 weeks after getting it and finally dropping Vashj we went to mount hyjal where of course after 1-shotting Rage Winterchill, Blade Of Infamy dropped from Anetheron and the Dragonstrike has been languishing in my bank ever since. DO wish there were another batch of decent weapons for crafters to make. I still slightly miss the "crafter only" bits and bobs that were around in TBC and before but I guess it's nessessary.
