Mar 28th 2012 1:18PM The Ultimate Weird Tales by Clark Ashton Smith.
The stories set in Averoigne are some of my favorites, but Smith was like, the great grand-daddy of all the weird sci-fantasy that led to Jack Vance's Dying Earth which led directly to Gary Gygax which led directly to WoW.
(Also, he's a far better writer than Lovecraft.)
Mar 27th 2012 5:14PM So if you have a warlock trying to get into a raid with the wrong glyph, you can rest assured that all of their other decisions - rotations, gear, etc. - are correct, right? Because it's so easy to change out one glyph while not in combat, and that doesn't speak volumes about the player.
/pugged too many times with the hunter who has no pet and tries to melee
Mar 27th 2012 5:09PM Clearly, it's the same invisible wall that keeps you from flying over Stratholme or the Black Temple.
Mar 27th 2012 6:43AM You know how people like to say, "There are no wrong decisions" and act all Zen and one with the universe, but in the back of your mind you're pretty sure they're laughing at you when you're not around, saying stuff like, "That dude just made the stupidest decision ever" ... ???
At least it will make it easier for raid leaders to un-invite warlocks. "Oh, I see you have the not-a-tank glyph... yeah, thanks for showing up, but we can do it with nine with week."
Mar 27th 2012 6:34AM "Historically, warlocks felt tankier than other casters and could even off-tank some encounters. We have made an effort in Mists to recapture some of that flavor. [...] You might be able to off-tank adds or pick up an actual boss for a short period of time if the tank goes down.
So the whole point of the redesign is to create an off-tank spec for warlocks, in an expansion that's introducing a new tanking class.
Clearly people are angry about this decision, but I'm just confused at this point...

Yes, but we also believe that we're the only speakers-of-English WITHOUT an accent. Considering how many different languages have passed through our linguistic digestive system, it's a miracle we can communicate with anyone.
Sorry for saying "erb" instead of "herb." But most Americans (I think) would agree that a herb is a sleazy salesman in a polyester suit, and an erb is a tea.
Mar 26th 2012 11:52AM If you're pronouncing "Pizzeria" as "Pete's area"... I'm not eating pizza with you anymore.
Mar 26th 2012 11:50AM The racial is a Dragon Turtle, but Yaks and Cloud Serpents are available.
Mar 26th 2012 11:49AM It's not "gnome" as "NOH-m", it's "gnome" as in "guh - NAH - muh".
Mar 24th 2012 2:06AM I just started playing RIFT last Sunday, so I'll be alternating between mostly that and a little bit of Azeroth.
In RIFT - I've got a necromancer up to level 10 (go me!) and I'm enjoying the carnival. Working on getting one of the carnival masks, so that's cool. Also have a warrior at level 7, so I'll work on her for a while maybe.
In WoW - My hunter is level 79 (five bars from 80), so I'll probably head to Vashj'ir and keep on a-leatherworkin'. Also, I'll eventually race change my forsaken rogue to a panda rogue, so I'm going to use Chase's lazy combat rogue guide to get back into the groove.
But more importantly... I'll be celebrating the fact that Winter term is truly and finally over. FFS, that seemed an eternity!
