Is it time to kill tanking? {WoW}

Aug 25th 2011 7:17PM I guess I am unique, I enjoy tanking (bear + DK), and healing. I can't remember last time I DPS in an instance. I like my Guild but honestly I prefer to PUG. 99 out of 100 times I have no issues with other players. Granted as a tank or a healer I tend to be able to make up for bad DPS.
Couple of days ago I had a guy who was really annoying, and kept calling out a new healer... so I told him that if he opens his mouth again I will simply kick him. He grumbles but shut up.
Dunno maybe I am lucky but I almost never have a bad PUG experience.. and pretty much never do I fail to complete the instance. Ohh sure couple of times I dropped or kicked someone but it is rare.
The instant queues are just too fun. Repair bills don't bother me either, I am not rich, but I have over 40K in gold, so 100g to fix something isn't a big deal.

Breakfast Topic: Will you quit with a bang or fade away? {WoW}

Aug 7th 2011 3:26PM I been playing this game since closed beta.. and I quit it all through that time. Sometimes for few months sometimes for years (longest was 2 years when Kara was the biggest deal until ToC in WoTLK).
I will do it again someday, although right now I am enjoying (again) my druid.
I quit the same way; fade out. Login less and less until I no longer bother.
To me WoW is just a break an entertainment I don't farm nor grind more than it is fun. To me it is simple as long as I am having fun I play, once I don't? I stop.

5 things Blizzard should implement from other MMOs {WoW}

Feb 3rd 2011 5:49PM How about AO style individual instances? Those were awesome! You could select a quest type you wanted (like killing X things) and difficultly then you were send to your own phrased dungeon. That was great fun, would love to see those.

Jan 12th 2011 6:39PM Just so you know, I also work at least 10 hours a day, and have family + kids. I rarely get to play more than 2 hours.
If you want shorter queue time, roll Tank/Healer. I realize it may not be what you want but you must understand that right now there is a major shortage of both but surplus of people who want to play DPS.

I am HARDLY hard core. But yet I say that Heroics are fine.

There are few fights that can be a bit harder to deal with, like Baron Ash(what'shisname) if you don't have DPS that can interrupt (or know when to). However majority of fights fall into the category of :" Don't stand in the fire, and take care of the adds".
Let's take the Grim 3rd boss (the Dragon). Let's see.. "A. take care of flame add.. not hard just make sure you move before it gets to you, B. When you see Dragon cast... run behind it, and C. stay out of stuff on ground". THAT'S IT! The problem is not with the design it's with the fact that people don't pay attention. That isn't Blizz fault that is a nature of playing with a lot of people. Let's not tailor this game to LCD!
Yes, back in Vanilla when there were instances like Naxx-40, you be right. It was impossible for non-hardcore super guild to take down. Those were far too difficult, but honestly I think that with Cata Blizz got the balance mostly right.

Jan 12th 2011 6:11PM I am a healer holy priest. I usually PUG, partly due to the time I play; rarely can I run guildy run. I am pretty well equip now (Ilevel 346 equipped), but nothing amazing at all.
I be honest, other than Grim I find Heroics to be boring these days. I rarely fail, and difference between good group and bad group tends to be time. For instance yesterday I was in heroic where highest DPS was 5k (HoO) and with 2 wipes total we finished. Took 2 hours, but we finished. The tank was new to the instance on heroic too and I had to explain most fights.

The only difference is Grim, where I can not compensate for bad DPS, there simply isn't anything I can do if people don't move correctly or do not take care of the adds right. This is especially true on the last boss, where if DPS doesn't know how to burn the adds correctly the fight goes out of hand instantly.

I also have little mana issues these days. Healing it is no longer stressful.

Anyway the point I am trying to make is that for most part Heroics are fine, and hardly hard. With people that half way pay attention things works without issues. They are certainly harder then WoTLK but WoTLK was silly easy. There were times in those instances where I just went shadow since there was little point to heal.

Let's not cry NERF let's enjoy the game and the challenge is provides and not just have heroics become yet another daily grind that person with no skill can just do.

BTW I am not saying I am some kind of "super healer", I know I am decent, but that's about it.
