Apr 4th 2012 10:15AM I love my Feline Familiar.
Ever since I got my first flying mount on my first character to be high enough level to obtain such, I thought "If only I had a kitty pet who could follow me while I'm flying, he'd be my favorite companion forever!"
Enter the adorable Feline Familiar. True to my word, he's been out nonstop ever since Hallow's End. The main thing that attracted me was, as I mentioned, the fact that he's a cat who can fly, but that fact that his *method* of flight is a teeny-tiny broom (as opposed to boring ol' wings or magical hovering or what-have-you) is just an awesome bonus!
Mar 31st 2012 8:12AM Ah, MadLibs... where not being able to differentiate between a regular noun and a proper noun leads to such awesome phrases as "distilled Superman juice".
(I've long since forgotten the context of that one, but it remains one of those funny, quirky things that the participants can say to one another many years later and still elicit a chortle... you know what I'm talking about...)
I might have to print this one out and present it to my boyfriend, though; it wouldn't really work to take it myself when I can already see everything... *ponders*
Mar 30th 2012 11:08AM Regarding the first question, I seem to recall an image from a very recent WoW Insider article that showed vendor items with a quest reward item highlighted for comparison.
If memory serves (because goodness knows I'm too lazy to, y'know, go look it up), the vendor items were ilvl 378 greens and the quest reward was an ilvl 384 green.
If these ilvls survive beta it will be quite nice, as these are what we're using now! No ridiculous 50+ ilvl jump, no "How the crap did this random starting-zone mob 3-shot me??", yet still a great-feeling upgrade (though not insurmountable by any stretch of the imagination) for someone coming straight from Cata questing in ilvl 333-ish.
Mar 30th 2012 8:05AM I don't particularly like it either. For the first year or so of my WoW-ing, I always referred to them as my "char/s" (shortening of "character" that was used in most of the other games I had played).
I pretty much just gave up and started holding my nose and saying "toon" like everyone else after multiple instances of "wtf is a char?" or "char char charmander? lol"... *sigh*
Mar 29th 2012 3:42PM @Lohkie: Oh why, oh why did I actually have to look upon reading your comment rather than simply taking your word for it? Cannot be unseen...... :(
Mar 28th 2012 3:04PM To be honest, I *really* want to read "Wolfheart"... and I've *almost* bought it a good number of times, only to remember at the last moment that Knaack's writing style gives me hives.
Shame, really; I think Varian is a rather fascinating lore character and, durnit, though I may be Horde and he may be a big blustery lout, I'd still like to see things go well for him after all the mega-suck in his life...
WTB Christie Golden re-write of "Wolfheart"! :(
Mar 27th 2012 1:26PM I think a lot of people would argue that, were you truly "nice", you wouldn't be rolling on that leg token (in order to win it) week after week if you didn't actually need it (which I imagine you don't, if you're actively looking to give it away)... buuuuuut, who are we to judge?
Mar 27th 2012 10:04AM Hillsbrad Foothills - Infested Bear Cub
I'm surprised they'd make a companion out of that, given the sheer amount of squicky complaints about the original model (at least I'm assuming I'm thinking of the right model, given the name).
I really hope I don't end up seeing tiny pitiful bears with spider eggs growing on their asses all over Org... but I have a feeling that I just might. -_-
Mar 26th 2012 12:32PM I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but just a tip... in my experience, the types of people who are likely to "mistake silence for silent disapproval", are the same types who are also likely to *NOT* realize that saying "Hey, are you mad? No really, are you mad? You can tell me if you're mad, really; even though you say you aren't, I just get the feeling that you are..." is a great way to seriously piss off somebody who honestly WASN'T mad before.
As I said, just puttin' it out there...
Mar 26th 2012 10:05AM You're absolutely right... if it had been Sacco making the video, it would have been 1/2, not 1/4.
