Feb 27th 2010 8:31AM If you haven't yet done the Pamela Redpath questline in EPL, you should do it now, before it's gone forever.
Feb 26th 2010 11:39AM A lock taps before the pull to buff SP. And we don't say "Heal me please" when we do it. Our Fel Armor will heal us up just fine. I rank 1 before the pull, and still see knee-jerk heals on me. I'm gonna be tapping all through the fight, every 40 seconds, rank 1 as a rule, highest rank if I need the mana... If I need to pop a healthstone before tapping because I'm not topped off, I will. This is called situational awareness. Realizing you don't need to heal the lock on the initial pull is also situational awareness.
Feb 26th 2010 11:30AM We've solo healed Saurfang from our fist night in there, with a druid, holy priest or a shammy... the healers decide who will stay heals, who will dps. The first night we also got the achievement for less than 3 marks with the single healer. 10-man strict guild, so 10-man gear.
Feb 23rd 2010 10:39AM I do think 10's are harder as a rule. There's no room for error in a 10-man strict, even for dps. The numerical advantage is clearly with the 25 man teams... more tanks, more healz, more deeps and the same number of bosses. I actually don't get why the gear is better in 25mans, when the 10-man content is so challenging in its own right.
Feb 22nd 2010 4:21PM Thanks, Dominic, great news and a great article. Can't wait to run my own numbers. The buff to destro was pretty obvious, but I didn't see the buff demo was getting. Time to redo my secondary spec yet again. It'll be good to see my big bodyguard again.
Feb 1st 2010 2:58PM SimulationCraft, sorry. I too WTB edit button.
Feb 1st 2010 2:57PM I'd also like to mention Rhadatip here... Using your own Simcraft scale factors Rhadatip will do a dps comparison for you on the fly of any piece of gear, taking into account the existing gear you're wearing, your enchants and your favorite gem choices.
Dec 19th 2009 12:43PM Possibly he was a tank that wasn't sure if he had the chops to tank... (I wish more were like this) and so threw on his lame dps gear to learn the instances before leading a group in. I am fortunate that I have a supportive guild, so when I want to do the same I can ask a healer and tank to let me come along with my subpar dps (both my specs are tank: Blood and Frost) so I can see the run from the melee/tank perspective, and so not suck when it's my turn to lead. My main is an 80 lock, ranged is a completely different ballgame. Perhaps this guy wasn't so lucky to have supportive friends. But he would be welcome in any of my randoms at any time...
Nov 7th 2009 9:02AM Our guild's site (Ex Cinis Cineris on Farstriders: www.excincin.com) does a pretty brisk business, I'd say about a third of our 150 members use it on a regular basis, most use it at some time or another... only a few holdouts that pretty much never use it. We have something for everyone... Raid signups, RP story contests, class forums where you know you won't get flamed, a Troll's Lair where you know you might. Guild bank requests are done through the site (first to request gets it for a nominal fee of 5 silver/stack or item... not bad for a BoE purple). But then, Ex Cinis Cineris is an adult social guild, maybe that makes a difference, as we've even expanded into virtualized RL with a Facebook group.
Oct 11th 2009 11:34AM Copy away! It'd be great to see all the realms pick this up and run with it!
