Aug 24th 2010 8:49AM Ultima Online. Hands down - the most creativity in both choosing and building your house, a range of items players can craft, find or buy to decorate. Ways to set up shortcuts, secret walls, mazes and games in your own house. Rooms you can quickly change and decorate to your hearts content. You can even build and stuff it full of player written books - absolutely fantastic, and no other game has come close...
...but it's looking so dated now. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's a shame that other games haven't brought the configurability of the UO house into their games.
LOTRO housing looks amazing; I love the 'neighbourhood' idea. I think, with it going F2P, that neighbourhoods will finally be all they really *can* be, with a larger number of people playing, more things will go on inside the neighbourhoods, which is what the devs wanted all along.
Aug 1st 2010 8:20AM Star Trek Online. It's perfect for the STO model; it has a partial store already. Buying 'season packs' or 'episode arcs' of missions makes great sense.
I played it for the first month and thought 'grind!' but for an F2P that isn't too bad; you can dive in and out, and you don't feel bad about grabbing the occasional set of extra missions.
Nov 25th 2009 12:46PM I want my Tauren to wrap his legs around a raptor!
Nov 24th 2009 9:02AM Go fly a kite, please!
Nov 23rd 2009 8:41AM 1 - 2 -3 - 4 - I declare a kitten war!
Go on, I want a rainbow cat, I have the lifestyle to use it!
Nov 4th 2009 3:31PM I'm not against paying for fun things that don't alter the game balance. Paying for epic weapons and stuff -that's a big no, but this type of stuff is great; long may it continue.
Nov 4th 2009 3:29PM No, jumping the shark is jumping the shark. Wow's been adding transactions for a while now (server change, race change, etc.) this is just one more way to get money - and hey, it's good that they get money, 'cos then the game will stick around a bit...
Oct 12th 2009 2:29AM I'd rather have a bowl of coco-pops. No, that's a lie. I'd rather have that grenade that makes people dance.
