Oct 26th 2010 9:41AM Pshaw. It's much more fun to solo content with a mage. No boring 'trying to stay under threat'... Just pop mirror images and BURN those bosses down! And trash is a piece of cake with our awesome CC ability as frost.
But... If this post makes you less jealous of us mages, then more power to ya.
Dec 26th 2009 9:51PM I have to admit that you are the reason my mage is 80, nearly geared, and firing away with a zeal not to be equaled! Belt, there is no other way to put this then... You are hilarious! I bide my time between reading your posts with a mixture of random instances and warlock farming!
And now a question for everyone: As a mage who currently has a shadow priest Arena partner and is looking for others to arena with... What class would you recommend? I have heard rogues are great partners, but (prepare yourself for blasphemy) what do you think about a warlock arena partner?
Dec 26th 2009 9:44PM Anybody want a peanut? HAHA!! I love you Archmage pants!
Nov 15th 2009 8:45PM I KNOW! Polymorph is an amazingly useful talent and numerous deaths have happened needlessly because we have not been given a chance to polymorph or some over eager warlock jumps and whacks that polymorphed enemy. Figures. I set up a fun macro that casts polymorph and sends "Polymorphing %t. You spank it you tank it!" to the party. Its quite amusing. I killed a warlock today, and feel simply FABULOUS! The kind of feeling one would get when solving world hunger or putting a dent in terrorism.
Nov 2nd 2009 12:33PM My level 72 mage is my first toon, and these articles simply compound and multiply my love for mages! We seriously are the best class ever. I also eagerly await your 71-80 installments if they come in time, because I am seriously struggling to find motivation to level. It takes FOREVER to level after 70! . Oh well, taking out a same-level DK and Lock in random duals makes everything worth it. Nothing was more satisfying than seeing that lock drop to its knees, its health bar nil. (Notice that I referred to the Lock as an "it".)
As a word of encouragement, I've dabbled through the other class columns and none are nearly as informational, rewarding, witty, and engaging as yours! You clearly represent us mages well.
I salute you Archmage pants!
Oct 27th 2009 8:30AM Once a frost mage, always a frost mage! Granted, I haven't made it to 80 yet (grinding through Northred atm), but I've tried every spec out there with the points available to a level 70, and it is impossible to beat frost in my opinion. Fire burns through mana (no pun intended), arcane is boring and the numbers are unimpressive, but frost! Now there is a build that allows for incredible survivability while allowing me to freeze down enemies at incredible rates and mow down entire mobs with an all powerful blizzard. This just makes me so much more excited for frost, and I'm definitely going to stick with it when able to raid if I have any choice in the matter!
Oct 12th 2009 5:01PM Christian, I absolutely LOVE your columns! I'm working on my first character, a level 56 mage (of course), and can't tell you how valuable your columns have been. And to think I respected locks! I'm glad you helped to reveal the dirty mage-wannabes they really are. Keep on rocking out the articles and hopefully you get your leveling guide for 70-80 out before I get there!
P.S. I've been doing mainly PvE stuff from 1-56, but I'm going to take your advice and jump into some PvP matches to help make myself a well rounded player. Hopefully get some skills and take down some locks on the way!
