It's neat to know a few key phrases from all these languages!

Know Your Lore: The Black Dragonflight {WoW}

Feb 27th 2010 10:03PM This mini-series on the dragonflights is absolutely fascinating. Kudos, also, for being able to cover some of the same world events without making it feel like a rehash!

Editorial: Thoughts on the Ensidia ban {WoW}

Feb 5th 2010 10:48PM Let's assume Ensidia did not know the bombs were causing the platform to rebuild.
Ten of these players cleared the fight in the 10-man version and knew precisely what the mechanics of the fight were supposed to be. (World First raiding guilds notice when they're standing in the fire, and they notice when the floor that is supposed to disappear COMES BACK.)
According to Their Own Blog (http://ensidia.com/Ekyu/blog/4079/): "Along those tries we realized something was actually wrong with the floor respawning. At least it wasn't the same as in 10man for those who did it."
Regardless of HOW the bug was triggered, it WAS triggered.
Again, from the Ensidia blog: "Later on someone said that we didn't need to kill Valkyrs when the floor was here (that's one Valkyr of the course of multiple attempts that we failed to kill, and there's 3 of them each of the many waves we got). The idea at this point was pretty much that if this bug happened again then we could just leave the valkyrs and DPS on boss..."
They knowingly discussed the bug, knew that it affected the boss encounter, and decided to ignore the Valkyrs, effectively trivializing the fight.
Whether they knew what was Causing the bug or not, it seems they had no problem Exploiting it to beat the rest of the world to the Arthas kill.
The punishment was on par with what Blizz has meted out in the past for similar issues.
If they had continued the encounter as they normally would have, taking down the Valkyr, and THEN been banned for the buggy encounter, THAT would have been unfair. But that was not the case. I'm with Blizz on this one.
