Jan 12th 2011 9:49PM "We don't want you to be able to overwhelm bosses without noticing or caring what they're doing."
At least at high levels. I got my Goblin (started from scratch) up to Hellfire Ramparts the other day. I was the only character in the group with Heirlooms. We finished the end of the first terrace and were at the bottom of the stairs and someone said "Hey, isn't there a boss around here?"" And we went back and started looting and found him in a pile of trash corpses. We'd killed him without even realizing we were fighting a boss.
Dec 14th 2010 1:00PM I think, right now, it's the right decision. Letting a guild snowplough their way to the bestest stuff just because they've got the people to do it is hardly fair, and would basically force people to leave their guild for larger guilds if they wanted to partake of the rewards.
Down the line I think they're going to have to remove the daily guild XP cap however, in order to keep new guilds from being unable to catch up to older guilds in a respectable amount of time.
Nov 23rd 2010 8:44AM Troll Druid. I love druids, but I hate Tauren (too big) and those evil Night Elves (seriously, they're on, what? Their 4th try at "accidentally" destroying the world?)
Other than that I've toyed with the idea of a Gobling Warlock, just because they get the perfect camouflage, summon an Imp and no one will know which of you're which. LOL I will probably end up making one of every race Horde & Alliance though, just to try the new starting areas since I've heard great things.
Nov 20th 2010 3:16PM Simple: I don't commit to something I know I won't be able to go to.
If my guild said "Hey, we're raiding next week and we need you to come." and I wouldn't be available, I'd say "Nope, sorry, not going to be home those days." If I have enough notice that I won't be able to make it to something I've said I can go to I'll log on long enough to let people know so they can find a replacement, but if something comes up suddenly in real life and I can't make it, that's too bad.
And if my guild didn't understand such things and threw me out for not attending guild events as a result of real life things happening? Good. That's not a guidl I wanted to be in anyways.
Nov 3rd 2010 10:19AM I'm quite enthusiastic about the whole thing, rushing out to defend Azeroth from this elemental terror. I missed the Lich king zombie apocalypse, and the Re-opening of the Dark Portal so I'm all excited.
Most of my guild was around for those events, however, so they're like "That's nice, WG now, elementals later." LOL
Oct 26th 2010 3:04PM Am I the only one who, when he made the Halloween Candy analogy, thought to myself "But there's an achievement for that!" :D
I thought the coolest moment in the panel was the girl asking about the Saurfangs' clan, and Metzen just went "As of 3 seconds ago it's Blackrock." Having that kind of power would be so awesome. :)
@Kaliata'jin: They weren't terribly clear about that from what I saw. They said that you'll log out, the servers will go down, and then when you log back in the new Azeroth would be in place. But they also said that players would get to experience the change. I kinda got the impression that it'd be phasing that would progress you over to the new landscape. But then what about people who log out in Northrend or Outland? If you don't return to the old world of Azeroth could you go days or potentially forever without the world changing?
Oct 12th 2010 7:58PM Curse, loudly.
I logged out last night with 399 unarmed skill, and 3 other weapon skills at 400. 2 achievements I'll never get. :(
Dec 11th 2009 8:26AM Unfortunatly, these aren't the only idiots you run into in the new system. Just yesterday I ran HoL with a group, and the tank abandoned us after the second pull because "We weren't geared for it." And when the Hunter admitted he'd just turned 80 a week before and was running Heroics in order to get gear, the Healer started a vote to kick him from the group. Why? Because "I like fast runs, not slow @$$ runs like you guys are doing."
Unfortunatly, there's some people who just don't realize that they shouldn't be using the Random dungeon system.
It is nice to join a group on my DPS DK (who does NOT own a tanking set of any description) and not have to worry about "I know you were advertising as DPS, but you can tank this for us, right?"
Nov 23rd 2009 5:31PM After some discussion with my co-workers and fellow players, I've decided it's an announcement of mounted Figureprints. With the provided sample picture of a Swift White Mechanostrider.
Oct 19th 2009 1:47PM My guild ran Blackrock Spire for the first time not long ago. Stumbled Across Finkle Einhorn. I had to explain the Ace Ventura reference to them. "All righty then."
For Un'Goro, the power crystals lying around are the same colour as the Rupees you pick up in the Various Legend of Zelda games, and as I recall, they even vendor for roughly the same denominations as the rupees of matching colour (1c for green, 5 for blue, etc)
