Mar 14th 2012 11:41AM FYI to the article author Adam: it's Shado-pan Monastery, not Shando-pan.
Nov 13th 2011 4:39PM She won't be a raid boss. I'm pretty certain that, if and when we ever see Queen Azshara, she'll be the end boss of an expansion (either the "secret" MoP end boss, or the next expansion). Azshara, like Deathwing or Arthas, is too important to the WoW world to be merely a dungeon or regular raid boss. Since we know that MoP has an unexpected final boss, maybe she's behind everything going on in Pandaria... but more likely, whatever the next expansion is after MoP, she'd be the one pulling the strings. (Certainly we'd end up in Nazjatar or Sargeras' Tomb for that.)
Aug 18th 2011 11:14AM "Hmm...why is it that it seems like everything is really rushed for Cataclysm?"
Because this time around they're not waiting two years for an expansion. The conventional wisdom is that it'll be out next spring.
(There was a graphic posted some time ago on MMO Champion that laid out a horizontal schedule grid of upcoming Blizzard releases. They said they got it from internal sources. Everyone complained and accused MMOC of lying. But everything on there has taken place, like the expansion into Brazil. That grid says Q2 in 2011... April through June.)
Aug 17th 2011 11:29AM For those wondering if 4.3 will be the last patch this expansion, i.e. if there will be a 4.4 with N'Zoth or an Old God, the following is at the Kotaku website from an interview at Gamescom with Tom Chilton:
"This will be the last patch that includes new raid content for the Cataclysm expansion, Chilton said. But there will be another expansion, he added. He's just not ready to talk about it yet."
Aug 8th 2011 11:11AM I'd like to see Blizzard give us more content. They've proven that they can take something that exists in the game already and breathe new life into it (Naxx, ZA, ZG), so why not take that a step further? We're eight months into Cataclysm and have gotten absolutely nothing (yet) that they didn't promise when they first announced the expansion (remember, Firelands was originally going to ship at release).
Take Kezan and turn it into an outdoor raid - the ruins of Kezan, filled with looters and pirates.
The Ruins of Gilneas could be an outdoor raid.
Retool BRD as a raid - not as much trash in certain places, but a linear raid dungeon with a minion of Deathwing at the end.
There are plenty of possibilities here.
Jan 20th 2011 5:25PM I don't understand what the blog poster means when he says "However, you can only advance your Baradin reputations while winning Tol Barad."
That isn't true. You can advance Baradin reputation at any time, day or night, by doing the six freely-available dailies on Tol Barad Peninsula (the non-PVP northern zone). They have nothing to do with winning the battle for Tol Barad.
Nov 23rd 2010 11:39AM Someone mentioned on the forums that while it's not reflected in these patch notes, that the mage glyphs are correct on beta and the PTR and it should be changed today; it's just an undocumented bug fix. I hope this is true!
Nov 22nd 2010 1:41PM @Xid: It's been in both beta and on the PTR, yes. The one in beta has been there since the portals were closed down.
Nov 22nd 2010 1:29PM Just as an update to everyone commenting in this thread:
Yes, there ARE auction house vendors now in Shattrath and Dalaran (as of the Shattering, when the portals vanish). With an AH and class trainers, it makes Outland and Northrend self-sustaining continents for people leveling 58-80. There will no longer be a need to go back to Azeroth while leveling, which is good because they've removed the portals to allow people to do it.
Anyway... as I mentioned, yes, there is now an Alliance AH vendor (a gnome) in the emblem room. (Yes, I know there are no more emblems; the vendors are still there, though, for Justice Point gear sales.) Likewise, there are trainers where the portals used to be. I assume the Horde AH is similarly positioned where Horde players used to get emblem gear.
Nov 22nd 2010 1:26PM The Alliance auction house in Dalaran is a gnome vendor on the counter in the room with the Emblem vendors. Where you used to go to get Frost, Triumph, etc. gear... you'll see the gnome there.
