Know Your Lore: The curse of the worgen and the Scythe of Elune, part one {WoW}

May 8th 2011 9:30PM WAIT. Wait, wait, wait, wait... This does not explain, at all, how come it went from "druids who shapeshifted and kinda got carried away" to "get bitten and turn into a werewolf lol".. What, just suddenly a curse, unexplained and undiscussed.. just because werewolves are 'cool'?

What are the limits to this curse? Who would it change? Who wouldn't it change? Who can carry it on? Are all the worgen we've seen elves or humans? Would a bitten gnome suddenly become 4 times its original size? Would a tauren shrink down and become smaller? What about dragons or demons or magnataur or even dogs? Why would it effect elves, who were once trolls, but not trolls? If it DOES effect trolls, why are there no worgen with troll fangs? Trolls have had druids for a considerable time, so why don't they mention worgen? If it's only elves/trolls and humans, why?

Or, again, is it just because werewolves=awesome, logical story-lines be damned?

Know Your Lore: The Third War, part 3, page 2 {WoW}

Nov 10th 2010 6:14PM They still attacked without warning, demand, or challenge, and that led to their forests being unprotected and thus corrupted. They'd've been better off leaving the orcs alone.. Although, they had no idea at the time.

I mean, they could've, when they were up on that hill, demand to know what the orcs where, and how they dared to tresspass upon their lands. The orcs would've most probably answered that they're getting lumber, and then the elves would tell them to stop and leave, the orcs would've said no, and then there'd be fighting. But THAT scenario would've been far more easy to justify for the elves, and wouldn't have cost them anything. (They would have had archers ready, hidden around the camp, right?)

I admitt my extreme bias against any and all forms of elf, but I'm pretty sure my point is pretty solid. :)

Nov 10th 2010 5:29PM But it's not your house, really, 'cause you can see a house. But you can't know if someone owns a piece of land if there's no sentient life to be seen, or signs of sentient life. For all the orcs knew, they were the first humanoids there.

It's more like, you're a land-owner, your house is way over there, on the other end of the land, and it can't be seen, and some farmers let their sheep eat the grass on your land. If nobody has told them that you own the land, and they've not seen any sign of anybody owning the land, and their sheep need food.. :)

Nov 10th 2010 1:57PM It actually went more like this..

Thrall: "Grom! Bad! Bad Grom!"
Grom: *whimper*
Thrall: "Sigh.. I can't stay mad at you.. Just.. go up north and get some lumber, alright?"
Grom: "Fine."
...
Warsong Orcs: "Yay wood!"
Elves: "DIE VILE INVADERS!" *attack*
Orcs: "OMGWTF!?"
Cenarius: "Demon-spawned wretches! You will all die!"
Grom: "Fffffffff--"
Mannoroth: "You guys wanna live? Then drink my blood!"
Grom: "Eww, no, not again."
Elves: "DiediediediediediedieDIIIIEEEE!"
Grom: "Fudge!" *drinks blood*
Elves: "Ohshi--"
Orcs: "REVENGE!"
Cenarius: "Lol I'm dead. Blah."
Elves: "YOU BASTARDS, YOU KILLED CENARIUS!"

More than less. Pardon any memes that may be in this reply. The point is that the elves attacked without warning, without even saying 'Hi, we kill you because you kill sacred trees. (Which means any tree.)'.

Nov 10th 2010 10:19AM I like being reminded that if the elves had been abit more, y'know, smart, instead of overly xenophobic and aggressive, Cenarius would've been alive, and their precious forests would've been harmed far less than they did.

Anyway, I gotta play Rain of Chaos again. Screw you Rossi, I wanted to play WoW, but now I NEED to do some WC3. :[

..I think you mean 'raising'. :)

The Queue: I had an NPC before it was cool {WoW}

Oct 31st 2010 1:09PM The 5% XP bonus heirloom ring is from the Northrend weekly fishing tournament.

And you forgot the RaF bonuses, and the zone-buff bonuses.

Question: Is it just me, or are NPC voices for non-humanoids getting worse? In Vanilla, most of the voices were clearly non-human, and sometimes frightening. In TBC, some were, but not as much. In Wrath? Hardly any. Will every non-human NPC/raidboss who's voiced in Cata have an annoyingly human voice, with hardly a different pitch, and an american accent?
