12 Days of Winter Veil Giveaway Day 11: SteelSeries Siberia Headset {WoW}

12 Days of Winter Veil Giveaway Day 1: Gigabyte GTX 460 graphics card {WoW}

Dec 22nd 2010 11:49AM Graphics cards are nice! Who doesn't like those?

Two Bosses Enter: Tyrannus tyrannizes Krick and Ick; Falric faces Paletress {WoW}

Mar 17th 2010 7:33PM Paletress summons the inner darkness of the person she's fighting and lets that do the fighting for her. Falric has got a great deal of inner darkness, and he's only a human (or the remnants of one) rather than some kind of monster or beast that might be immune to that sort of power. No contest.

Time Is Money: Are materials you farmed free? {WoW}

Mar 15th 2010 7:53PM Another important factor to keep in mind is that each auction is taxed. You can't just look at the price your materials are selling for and compare it to the price your final good is selling for and compute the difference in profit that way; you have to also take into account the amount you're going to spend on the auction house tax and the deposits.

The deposits are particularly relevant if the supply of ingredients is high and the supply of finished goods is low; you might be looking at an absolutely certain sale of a finished product compared to a less-than-100% probability of selling the materials, and any sale you don't make is a loss of the deposit.

The Queue: Ghostcrawler promised me a Sea Mouse {WoW}

Mar 10th 2010 4:23PM I don't know what kind of sites you visit, but of the ones I go to on a daily basis, I think there might be /one/ that opens new links in an external window without asking me.

There was a brief period where that behavior was in fashion, but frankly browsers have made it trivial for you to do that yourself these days, so it's less common to see it around. And I couldn't be more glad, since it was a really annoying fad. I hope it continues to die a slow and painful death.

The importance of the Wrathgate story in Icecrown Citadel {WoW}

Nov 12th 2009 8:00AM Guild Wars is also pretty good at this - the main centerpiece quests of the game (called missions, very similar to WoW instances in concept) are impressive in scope and generally contain multiple cinematics.

Frankly, WoW is behind the times in this particular area. I liked the Wrathgate questline specifically because it seemed like they realized that and were trying to correct it.

Patch 3.3 PTR: Patch notes updated {WoW}

Nov 6th 2009 8:05AM Sup, dawg. I heard you like frost, so I put some freeze in your freeze so you can DPS while you DPS.

Disenchanting in dungeons in patch 3.3 {WoW}

Oct 28th 2009 6:56PM Speaking as someone who's maxed out enchanting, I actually think this is pretty cool. It will save me a lot of time at the end of the PUG run DEing things for people, and when I'm not running on my enchanter I don't have to hand items over to a random person trusting that they will DE it for me. Heck, I want this in the non-random dungeons too.
