Drama Mamas: Taking guild drama to Facebook {WoW}

Oct 3rd 2011 10:52AM Thank you for making the point that it's not just a game. Just a game is when you piss an NPC off, not another player. Too many people don't realize or care that other people are behind the other characters and treat them like robots, then don't understand why the same thing happens to them. Common courtesy is all too rare these days, and that's why I'm taking time off of the game.

NOT thank you for sneaking in a stealth TVTropes link. Now I'm lost in the neverending maze of tropes with no escape in sight. D:

The Lawbringer: China, forced labor, and why we must stop buying gold {WoW}

Jun 3rd 2011 2:03PM Not exactly. By him saying, "work to make it less profitable", it's to decrease how much is being purchased. Demand goes down, less gold purchased, supply goes up, prices come down, industry becomes less profitable, less exploitation is used to acquire the gold.

This is, of course, assuming that the lower prices don't invite more people to buy the gold (which they will to an extent, but we're hoping most people stick to their guns about not supporting this) and outweigh the major boycott, thus revitalizing the issue.

It plays heavily on hopes that people will be willing to forgo a convenience that they've grown accustomed to for the greater good, which unfortunately tends to go against human nature.

I doubt that people will stop buying gold as humans are, on a whole, cruel, selfish, and lazy creatures, but it doesn't mean that I don't hope that some people realize they're contributing to a major violation of basic human rights and will stop supporting the scumbags who run these operations.

It's an uphill battle, that's for sure, but it still be one we try to support. Buying gold is reprehensible enough already - this should be seen as another nail in the coffin for its support.

Spiritual Guidance: Will patch 4.2 redefine what it means to be a shadow priest? {WoW}

May 18th 2011 3:18PM Now I wanna know what the other five were. :/

Patch 4.2: Stats for Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest revealed {WoW}

May 10th 2011 3:32PM Clearly for Shadow. *nods*

Spiritual Guidance: Shadow priests react to patch 4.1, look forward to 4.2 {WoW}

May 4th 2011 4:54PM Yeah, that's actually a good point, since according to DPS, we're the 2nd overall, and the 2nd highest hybrid is Fury at spot 10 on the Overall and Retribution (also at 10) on the Adjusted. I suppose due to my lack of raiding experience in Cataclysm, I have to ask: What do our single versus multi target number looks like? My multi target numbers always seem low, but that's probably because I'm terrible at every game ever.

May 4th 2011 4:11PM I have mixed feelings on the T12. I love the fire theme unifying all of them, but I do agree it looks slightly un-priesty. I also don't like the headpiece, but I never like cloth headpieces unless they're a Nice Hat. Also, yay Trigun.

As for crowd control, I always feel a bit left out. We're very limited in our choices, it always seems, since we can handle undead and humanoids, and while Mind Control can be powerful, it can be a hassle as well. It's great on some mobs, but on others I feel like I'm being wasted. And while not entirely relevant, it's virtually useless when I'm being coerced into healing. It might just be me, but I always feel ripped off in the crowd control department, but I suppose the DPS we can pump out makes up for it.

Drama Mamas: Is WoW cool? Should you care? {WoW}

Mar 18th 2011 11:27AM As fun as it can be, Call of Duty doesn't make you 'cool', either. There are a lot of people on that game who are horrendously immature, just like in WoW, and it earns them no popularity points with other players.

I'm gonna be one of the 'follow your heart' people. Do what makes you happy, and what others make think of you be damned. Fact is you won't see much of them after high school unless you want to.

And anyone who drops the 'video games aren't cool' spiel is just being ignorant. The vast majority of people these days through 30ish play games, and the age increases as the people who play them get older.

I guess I'm just biased and ranty today. My bad.

The Queue: Sad clown snowman otter {WoW}

Mar 14th 2011 9:10AM You gotta look ahead. Oshawott may be sad clown otter, but Samurott is hardcore. Tepig, though, is lame, and Emboar is abysmally stupid looking.

Do not mess with Smugleaf. He will destroy you. With class.
