Dec 21st 2009 6:24PM I've had a general good experience in PuGs.
I could be making dinner on follow and they wouldn't even notice. I'll toss a PoM every once in a while or bubble the whole group and have then go have a smoke.
I exaggerate, but it seems with the good groups there isn't as much dmg througput to heal. May as well shadow with Imp VE and heal the whole group while melting faces.
Dec 11th 2009 1:18PM You forgot the ICC Trash Boss. Pulling Trash Mobs hearkens back to the BT days of fighting your way to the next boss, but not so much of the time wasting as BT. A badly executed Trash pull could mean a wipe. You get one of the bone giants from the wall during a large 9-pull, you may as well just DI someone.
Dec 8th 2009 11:13AM You're absolutely right; it's hard to be an End-Game raiding tank.
Truth is, the demand is much lower than the supply. Everyone with a defense cap thinks they're a tank and it's hard to sift through and find those who are credible, know tanking techniques, and are geared enough to be the meatshield for a 25m group. Threat alone will make a tank stand out. An entire 25m raid, in full 245-258 gear will rip aggro off of a rookie tank in a heartbeat...if they even survive the first set of Gormok's Impales.
I'm proud to say I'm an End-Game raiding tank. I worked hard for it. If a player is really dedicated to the role, they'll get a spot. Longevity in a guild goes a long way to tanking slot openings and MT roles.
