Apr 4th 2012 2:52PM I don't want to see Sylvanas as a raid boss, especially if we're putting the boots to Garrosh, but I like your interpretation of the Matthias Lehner questline, if for no other reason than this: Why would Arthas' 'good side' lie about who he is? (Also, why would he first appear in the Old God haunted depths of the Nerubian runs beneath Icecrown?)
Apr 4th 2012 2:49PM I think a lot of the confusion relating to the whole 'There must always be a Lich King' deal stems from people not understanding the Scourge. When Halls of Reflection first came out, there was a lot of hue and cry. If a leaderless Scourge would have overrun the world, did the Lich King reining in the Scourge mean that he wasn't that evil? That sort of thing.
The important thing to remember is that the Lich King and his Scourge never wanted to end the world. They destroyed only in order to create and reshape. It's all there in Arthas' RP when you begin the fight with him in ICC. He wants to reshape the world, to remake it in his image. The only thing Arthas was preventing was wanton, mindless destruction, while being all for calculated, purposeful destruction.
For what it's worth, the Uther that appears when you turn in the Shadowmourne goodies acts completely different than the Uther in Halls of Reflection, and more in line with the spirit that appears at his tomb:
Uther the Lightbringer says: Arthas' medal... I remember well the day I presented it to him. You have done me a great service, hero. My soul may now rest in peace. I offer you a memory lost in time. Do with it as you please, but do not forget those who helped you in this monumental feat.
Arthas... Alas, hero of Azeroth, you give me a greater gift than you know. Long have I struggled to forgive the prince for his terrible transgressions. My soul has been wracked with unbearable anxiety, dark thoughts... distancing me from the Light. I recall clearly the gleam of pride in his eye as he stood before me, eager to defeat the enemies of the Light... Eager to defend his people, no matter the cost. It is this memory of Arthas that I choose to keep in my heart. I shall always be in your debt, friend. Thank you.
Not a single mention of being trapped in Frostmourne.
Apr 2nd 2012 4:11PM For me it's the Twinblade of the Phoenix off Kael'thas in Tempest Keep. I've been farming him every week for so long and it just won't drop.
Apr 2nd 2012 4:09PM I agree. And it's not like it needs to be every other fight.
Mar 31st 2012 10:15PM Maybe because hunters don't need to recoup that stat loss. Yeah, you're losing melee weapons as stat sticks, but everyone else is losing their ranged weapons stat sticks too. So it all balances out.
Mar 29th 2012 5:40PM @Boobah: In defense of how long it's taking for Silvermoon to be rebuilt, remember that until more or less the end of BC, the majority of the Blood Elf population were anticipating joining Kael'thas in the 'Promised Land' of Outland, and were only doing the bare minimum to keep up their Azerothian holdings until they could all leave.
By the time Wrath comes along, they had only just starting on rebuilding their nation; remember that they suffered a LOT of attrition to Kael's forces, not to mention losses in battle and probably more than a few choosing to rejoin their Alliance brethren once the Sunwell's reignition meant they didn't need Fel energy anymore.
Mar 29th 2012 11:24AM Maybe it's for the new glyped Divine Plea?
Mar 29th 2012 11:20AM I'd like to see the male human model burned up, the pieces broken into gravel, and the earth turned and salted that nothing might grow there for ten thousand years.
And I'd like to see worgen get a toggle to have tails.
