Breakfast Topic: How did you start WoW? {WoW}
Dec 22nd 2009 9:02AM A friend of mine suggested trying the "free" trial. Her daughter was playing it for quite some time, and it spread from there. I actually was involved in the early beta test, but could not get the "grinding" idea down. Why am I only hitting attack once? Thought it seemed interesting, but preferred the RTS. Back then. Things were much different. No glitter on the objects, and so forth. I gave up my beta account to a friend. Fast forward to the free trial. The game had changed, it wasn't so frustrating and mundane. I started with an undead rogue with engineering. For some reason I needed the gun skill. Taking tons of time and dying multiple times I made it to Thunder Bluff. Then I thought it would be a good idea to pull mobs with a gun as a rogue, ha! It wasn't till my brother told me "This area should be a cakewalk for you. Why aren't you stealthing and using your stun abilities!" I started off on the wrong foot, but I was having fun. I still enjoy the game to this day. Only difference is today if I want to shoot things with guns. I'll use my hunter!
A WoW player's guide to microtransactions {WoW}
Nov 5th 2009 11:20AM I don't see how this is going to impact my game whatsoever. I like the idea of donating portions to a charitable cause. Heck, I may even buy one as a gift for someone. I have enough pets where I won't buy one for myself. I know there are people out there that will enjoy spending the money and getting something cool/unique. I understand how a lot of you think of Blizzard as this big evil company that makes money. Well, I like their product. I'm glad to see an American company actually doing well. They provide real jobs... If people are enjoying and shelling out the dough. I can only see it as a sign that they are doing the right thing. If not. Take your money elsewhere.
