Apr 3rd 2012 9:53AM Oh God, I hate PvP. HATE it. I have very, very little patience with it, and I don't like what it does to me: I get frustrated, angry, and upset to the point that I don't even want to be on the game anymore. Part of it might be that very first wall you hit gear-wise -- if you have no PvP gear, you get absolutely steamrolled by those who do, and there's not much you can do about it.
But I think a bigger part of it is, for me, that sense of lack of control. I know many, many people absolutely love that sense of not knowing what's going to happen or how the fight's going to go down... I don't. I hate it. When I go into a raid or heroic, I know what's coming and how best to react to it, and even if you make a mistake it's usually not fatal. But with PvP, it feels like there's a much smaller margin of error (or even none at all), and I don't like that at all.
And beyond even that, I really resent it when Blizzard forces PvP on those of us who are PvE'ers, *in our pursuit of PvE goals*; obviously it's the absolutely loathed "School of Hard Knocks" that comes to mind here. Forcing those who dislike an activity to participate in it to achieve other goals doesn't do a whole lot to improve their opinion of it.
So while I appreciate your desire to help those of us who hate PvP to learn to love it, I'm afraid this particular player is a lost cause. :)
Mar 27th 2012 12:32AM It definitely says "sha energy" on the tooltip though. Has it been confirmed somewhere that that's a typo and I just missed it?
Mar 26th 2012 4:07PM So as I was leveling my monk I found myself curious about their use of "sha energy" for at least one of their attacks. We know that "the Sha" are the creatures formed from coalescing negative emotions like fear, hate, and anger, so it would stand to reason that "sha energy" is the energy produced by those emotions.
Would that mean that when monks use this sha energy for attacks like Blackout Kick, they're simply finding those negative emotions in themselves and using it rather than being used by it? I just found it curious that there's been a lot of talk about how bad the Sha themselves are, and yet monks are using the energy associated with them from level 3 or something like that.
Mar 5th 2012 6:39PM I find myself objecting (rather strenuously, in fact) to this idea simply because I don't think Blizzard ever intended Warcraft to be that kind of universe. That is, a universe in the same vein as Kentaro Miura's "Berserk", where everything is actually evil and there is no true good, only the insidious schemers and their poor saps of blind servants, and every hope spot is really just another infinitely complex plot to break Azerothian will.
Can't anything Good just be Good anymore? Is the next Tinfoil Hat Edition going to be positing the idea that Uther Lightbringer was actually one of the wickedest servants of the Scourge ever spawned?
