Apr 7th 2011 9:25AM The percents of parry and dodge as derived via ratings. You can usually tell if they're balanced by keeping parry 1.19% about dodge, that way you can eyeball your armory/character sheet without worrying about subtracting base parry/dodge.

Apr 1st 2011 3:56PM I never said base dodge/parry suffers DR, but rather I meant that with parry already 1.19% higher than dodge due to base values, you're going to see your parry generally be the higher of the two, and thus eat the heavier DR. Sorry if my wording was confusing.
Mar 25th 2011 6:02PM Sure thing! One of our passives from speccing into the Protection tree if the ability "Vengeance", which converts damage we take into attack power, based on a certain percent of our health. Which means that when tanking bosses, we'll always be gaining a ton of free threat.

Mar 11th 2011 3:13PM I see your point, but it's not that bosses can't parry haste, it's that they don't. The flag is off at the moment, but the mechanic still exists, so I don't want to pronounce "Boss parry haste is dead!" and then the next tier have someone point that out as a huge foible. It could come back via reflag, so I'm playing it safe for now.
Mar 11th 2011 3:07PM Well, you're asking the guy who leveled prot for the last three expansions (even BC!), so I'm not sure I'm sane enough to answer that question, haha. But truthfully I think there's a ton of value in leveling as a tank. Damage output right now isn't terrible, so you won't be slowed terribly, there's little downtime, and it'll teach you how to handle large numbers of adds (like dancing around while keeping your front to them at all times), and other tricks that'll pay off in spades when you start tanking for groups.

Vengeance gives you AP and WoG will heal based on AP or Spell Power, whichever is higher. So the more Vengeance you have, the higher your AP will climb, and the bigger WoGs you'll cast.
