May 28th 2010 8:24PM Never used it, and if I did I did it would only conceivably be for a PuG. Yes they have the achievement, but it's a pug- you have to stand in s**t in a pug.

I've DPS'd ICC without DBM and didn't notice a difference, probably because I know the fights and what to look for.

I tank with DBM, but tbh if I didn't have it I'd know to take aggro from the south african screaming at me to take aggro, DBM is as much of a cheat as vent- you still have to know the fight to understand what its telling you.

Drawing rings and what not is just a time save for pugs, I don't enjoy going through tactics by typing- I also don't enjoy muppets ignoring them and standing in s**t. I've never used the mod but i think they will just stand in s**t regardless of the pretty patterns I've drawn.

Though from what I understand not being able to use this mod prevents me from drawing a massive c**k on the ground- I'm upset by this, that idea appeals to me.

Lichborne: Frost tanking 101 {WoW}

May 25th 2010 9:25PM Only problem I found with frost tanking is the muppet's QQ'n the low HP's- the obligtory "DK put frost presence on" still makes me wanna ninja dc just at the memory.

Only reason I went blood was because I got that big axe from saurfang, can't remember what its called- I'm not to fond of using it.

I'm unsure why scent of blood was given any mention, I've never come across a need for RP regen, personally I always went for IT as a mandatory- since it gives group utility and all.

Deathchill isn't particularly useful, especially in a raid situation. I spose its nice for a threat recovery from over eager DPS- but to be honest the majority of the huntards, etc, will carry on attacking the same target that you just had to whip a cool down out to pull back- same goes for hungering cold.

Honestly I want a retuurn to the 1hdrs with strength on them, I just loved the playstyle of frost DPS and tanking, it just seems much more natural to me. The other specs just seem slow sluggish in comparison.

Be interesting to know whether they get into trouble for this sort of thing. I know when I worked phone customer service we had a 'script' to work too, deviation from the script was severely frowned upon- usually by empty shells that used to be people, people who have had the realisation sink in that they are in charge in a job they detest as much as the people they're reprimanding over some daft script some muppet made up whle sittin on the loo.
The muppet never has to read the script, the muppet never has to annoy people in they're houses with the script, the muppet looks on the script as a "job well done", as an achievement. God I hate the muppet.

I do hope these little glimmers from the GM's are not just someone's last day but something encouraged within blizzard.

Third as a rogue that really wanted that fleshshaper back in the day I could understand flippin the lid a wee bit. You can only take so much of looking at that frickin titansteel shanker before you go a bit crazy.

Apr 26th 2010 7:50PM Also forgot to say, the blood Dk tanking thing- I seem to remember reading that the new blood tree would take from the other talent trees (I would quote but can't be bothered) so the blood tank spec would have all the good snizzle that made you want to play frost/unholy.

I took that to mean howling blast would = bloody blast or some such nonsense....

Though saying that the AoE dps I got out in 245's, couple 251's in frost dps spec, that bit in ICC with the 2 dogs, the bit with the gheists and scientists and those 2 exploding bastards- just with howling blast was mental.

Then I got a 251 2h dps sword and then the 2h tanking axe... spoiled my fun!

Apr 26th 2010 7:34PM This AOE tanking jazz is basically down to the cycle we are in on WoW, the 5 man HC's were never intended to be played the way they were in BC.

You can enter a wrath hc in 80 blues and be ok, you can enter them and get more than just one emblem.

i was never really bothered with end game BC, I came in late and can think of better things to do than the grind it took from fresh 70 till being able to do end game raid (lets be honest it was a grind)

What we have now is a more accessible end game, as a result the 5 mans are basically just pull it and f it, well thats the presumption less your healer/tank is fresh 80. Anyone who's been playing for a bit has a few 80's - it's basically just assumed the majority of runs you can safely pull stupid amounts- 5 man is meaningless now except for emblems.

I've noticed the newer ICC 5 mans have addressed the issue, from a tanks standpoint, in that you have caster mobs that do decent enough damage so that they are a issue. Especially when the huntard insists on attacking them. It still isn't in the league where a sheep is required- just the tank has to press more buttons and hate DPS more.

Playing as a tank I can honestly say harder pulls ain't really much fun, from first hand experience I can also say- DPS do not respect that its a harder pull.

Right now you can run a pug ICC raid group where the DPS whine about bigger pulls so they can AoE it to buggery (they will also whine when they over aggro and get one shotted).

With the gear we have and the DPS that can be produced, even if you let your cat play while you take a piss, AoE tanking is what is required. It's a direct result of making the end raid as accessible as it is- which I for one think is a good thing, I thought BC was crap mainly because I didn't want to spend hours upon hours LFG.

Even if we had instances that didn't rely on AoE tanking the way they now do- how would that possibly work with the LFG tool?

Come cataclysm though, do you really want to play a new instance the way you do now? 6 minute pull all DTK's etc? it'll be crap!

Cataclysm- difficulty will need to be ramped up to take into account of all these 264's and more than likely 277's by time it hits- that first quest green will have to absurdly OTT, other wise what will be the point.

Mar 31st 2010 7:59PM I'm not much for too much keybindings and macros (lazy) I've faffed around a fair bit havin a little energy timer and what not on the go, but meh I've gotten used to knowing my energy respawn, I'm able to watch my CD's fairly well (I may miss a second or 2 on SnD uptime).

But anyhoo apart from bartender and obligatory DBM- I use tauntmaster.

I sort of realised how good it is (for me) through tanking on my DK, you can assign a left click for taunt and a right for deathgrip ( handy for me because its a pain in the balls to manually target the random mob the huntard/mage has decided to nuke while your doing your pestilence thing.

Thing bout taunt master is you can assign any ability to it, so on my rogue i assign left click for tricks of the trade- I have a raid grid, that lets me left click who ever. ToT havin the CD it does it lets me time when I can move my mouse fairly well as I do click some stuff on the toolbar (i am lazy).

Other good thing about tauntmaster is it lets me see the aggro, goes yellow-orange-red. If I see the tank has a orange colour, i'll tricks him, if tank has red- I'll trick a DPS, if I see the mage and huntard have red (the muppets usually do), I'll tricks tank and aoe to get the aggro back for him.

I realise I could probably set some add on like grid set up for this but tauntmaster just makes it apparent the amount of threat a target for tricks has and lets me just look at it and decide where I put tricks. On top of that it lets me stick it on that bastard "i wear epics" over-aggro'n mage with just one click (preferably after he's ice blocked and thinks he's safe).
