Is it time to kill tanking? {WoW}

Aug 29th 2011 5:04PM I think you missed a major point of lack of tanks which is the need for tanks (at least good ones) to do a lot of homework on encounters. Even trash encounters, the tank is typically the one responsible for marking which mobs to cc, etc. You can carry DPS who don't know the mechanics (most will at least understand to not stand in fire), healers to a lesser degree but can still do their job for the most part even not knowing the whole fight, but tanks will kill themselves at the whole group often if they don't know the encounters. This extra knowledge needed just adds to the complexity of the role.

Obviously I run into a ton of new tanks that have no clue regardless, but most people are impatient and won't want that responsibility themselves even when they demand their tanks be both geared and knowledgeable.

Undercover Chinese reporter exposes Foxconn working conditions (update: full English translation) {Engadget}

May 19th 2010 5:47PM Makes me wonder though, how they managed to snap some of these pictures in the article? I thought they were super strict on photography at these Foxconn factories. Didn't an AP photographer almost get beaten and dragged into one of these places because he was taking pictures outside from across the street by their security officers?

May 19th 2010 5:37PM @phuz I agree with what you're saying, but you have to admit that Apple products aren't exactly the cheapest, in fact they're known to carry quite a price premium.

44 Chinese workers sue Wintek over screen cleaner poisoning {Engadget}

May 16th 2010 6:40PM @HighestRanked2 Wow the Apple fanboys just are coming out of the woodworks here aren't they? At least I can argue without the typical troll reaction of calling people names like "mental cripple" to prove a point. What are we in kindergarten?

First off this article addresses working conditions at a factory that produces Apple components. Fact.

Apple Fanboy response: But they did an audit! And found bad stuff!

Duh. It was a PR response after it became known and is it any surprise that the source link for the article was an actual PR release from Apple itself?

Secondly who says you need to own the factory to have accountability? I suppose BP should have no responsiblity for the oil well disaster in the Gulf of Mexico since its actually owned by Transocean and only contracted to BP...

And did I say they owned factories? Does the article? Buddy take the previous poster's advice and doublecheck your reading comprehension.

And regarding whether or not Wintek is an exclusive manufacturer for Apple... please cmon if you're going to keep saying this as an excuse at least read the goddamn article.

The lawsuit is over workers using a toxic substance to clean APPLE products. Jesus cmon did you actually read the article or not?

May 16th 2010 3:01PM @andrewh12 I can read fine thank you. "posted Feb 27th 2010" and apparently people are still commiting suicide and omg wow look they're even going to try to help the situation.

http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/14/foxconn-chairman-has-sought-the-aid-of-an-exorcist-to-stop-sui/

Didn't seem like that audit back in February helped much did it? In fact, an audit doesn't do sh*t by itself.

Oh and take your advice and learn to read:

http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/10/05/14/apple_contractor_wintek_sued_by_44_employees_over_alleged_poisoning.html

It's an article from APPLEinsider talking about a contractor for an APPLE product.

May 15th 2010 4:35PM And Apple's input on this latest news of poor working conditions at their factories?

...

Thought so.
