Know Your Lore: The curious dissonance of Alliance leveling {WoW}

Apr 1st 2012 8:10PM Its the same thing people have been sayin for quite a long time now. The Alliance needs to get a win somewhere in the game. I'm tired of questin through zones and seein how incredibly broken the Alliance is. I'm tired of goin from zone to zone and seein how absolutely destroyed the Alliance is. I'm tired of goin to a new place and seein how weak we've become.

Its annoyin to know that the Alliance has not won a major victory against the Horde at all since WCII. We're the champs of fightin to a stalemate. We are the absolute best at winnin but at such a huge cost that it barely could be considered worth it. We're the kings of shootin ourselves in the own foot then handin our opponents the gun so they can finish us off.

People talk so much about how the people who cry out about faction favoritism are seein things that aren't there. To them I ask them where and when was the last time the Alliance actually won. Not the last time the Alliance was a part of winnin such as Hyjal, or Ony. I mean the last time the Alliance had a straight up victory that wasn't immediately defeated before they even had time to celebrate?

Shifting Perspectives: This month in WoW druid history {WoW}

Mar 22nd 2012 12:06AM Most of the comments about low level tankin droods bein screwed had to do with Blizzards decision to make Swipe a 6 second cooldown because they balanced its thread and damage around the existence of Thrash. Problem there was they forgot that there's the whole 1-81 game before that where Swipe is the only option and swipe on a 6 second cooldown that didn't do enough damage or threat to hold off normal cleave damage did not make for happy bear campers.

Now though with a 3 second cooldown and a ridiculously buffed threat generation rate? Totally fine.

Also.

Happy anniversary Allison! Heres to another year of awesome droodness.

Breakfast Topic: What class will you never play? {WoW}

Mar 7th 2012 11:46AM Warlock. Easily Warlock. I don't really have a good reason why considerin I enjoy aspects of the Warlock class that I see in other classes. I don't mind dot based damage because I've played a Feral most of my time in WoW. I enjoy ranged dps which is evidenced by my main bein a Mage. I don't really like pets and yet I have a level 80 hunter that hit 80 back in Wrath. There's just somethin about warlocks that I can't stand. Half the time I can't even make it beyond the character select screen before I just give up. The farthest I've ever gotten one was level 25 before I deleted her.

Breakfast Topic: That first WoW trailer no one seems to remember {WoW}

Mar 1st 2012 8:23PM I see no Night Elves front flipping into cat form so no, no it would not sell me. Also, far too Horde for my liking.

Shifting Perspectives: Feral thoughts on the new talents and abilities {WoW}

Feb 19th 2012 11:09PM There's a couple things you seem to not get about the T4 choices. Soul of the Forest refunds 10 energy on a 5 cp move. That is not the same as costing 10 less energy. One means you need less energy to cast, the other means you end up with more energy after the cast. A minor distinction, sure, but its also a very important one because it changes how you would need to use the abilities. Using a move that costs 30 energy at full energy with Soul of the Forest would mean you'd overcap energy by 10. Using it how you think it works means you'd end up with 90 energy.

Also your bland dismissal of Incarnation is...off. Ravage in Mists will be our hardest hitting ability, almost twice as hard as Shred against nonbleedin targets, but still quite a bit ahead on bleeding ones. It also only costs 10 more energy. Having a full 30 seconds to use your hardest hitting ability (timed with Berserk of course) will be a massive increase in burst potential. To shrug your shoulders and say it isn't for a Feral isn't very well advised.

Shifting Perspectives: Are druid abilities getting a trim in Mists of Pandaria? {WoW}

Feb 11th 2012 1:13AM Theres plenty of times that Soothe can be used in cataclysm. Just because you're too lazy to do it doesn't mean you can't.

Really your entire point about Soothe is a poor argument. You're basically goin off the basis that if you don't absolutely have to use it or wipe, you don't need it. Savin the healer mana is always a good thing. Reducing the damage someone takes in pvp against Ferals/Warriors is always a good thing.

Do mages really need 3 competitive PvE specs? {WoW}

Feb 4th 2012 5:24PM The reason they nerfed it before was because of how ridiculous the damage of Deep Freeze is on player controlled vehicles in pvp. A single Frost mage in a Strands or Isle could, by himself/herself, destroy a vehicle in a few seconds on top of actively applyin multiple snares/roots to the targets.

Third faction or logistical nightmare? {WoW}

Feb 3rd 2012 5:09PM The idea that you, or anyone really, thinks that the Gnomes or Dwarves as a people would ever have any reason to not be a part of the Alliance is painful. Those three races have the strongest link of anyone in all of Warcraft. The Dwarves and the Humans have been allies since forever. The Gnomes and Dwarves have been allies since forever. The three races are practically dependent on each other at this point.

Shifting Perspectives: Clear and present danger {WoW}

Jan 24th 2012 8:12PM Ya know whats awesome about barkskin? You use it durin an Ultraxion fight and you can have almost 100% uptime. Its great.
