Mar 31st 2012 11:33AM Once upon a time, the hirsute king of Stormwind, Varian Wrynn, was sailing on his ship, the Pride of Frankensein, when suddenly an orcish warship came out of the fog! "Battle stations!" the king ordered. "We will not let them take the greasy phantoms!" Two troll hunters fired arrows at Varian, narrowly missing his lateral incisor. "By Bolvar's ghost! That was close," Varian shat.
Garrosh Hellscream, warchief of the Horde, ran out onto the deck of his ship, the Krushskull's Fury. "Varian, you cowardly alpaca! Come face me, and feel the might of my Mag'har bile!" Garrosh lunged forward and, with the grace of a parrot, landed on Varian's ship. The two fought until the keel was puce with gal bladders.
Suddenly, Chen Stormstout appeared in a puff of white russian. "Stop this at once! Your battle has cut off shipments of the ingredients to my prized new ale, floppy tropical autumn Stout! If this continues, we will never have enough for Brewfest!" Varian and Garrosh looked at each other's turgid faces and agreed that this fighting was pointless. "Garrosh, what do you say we let bygones be bygones and have four and two thirds googleplex drinks together at Brewfest?" "A true warchief partners with Roxanne!"
Mar 26th 2012 7:23PM Another thought.
Could this be the beginning of the end of "pure" DPS?
Warlocks get tanking, Rogues and Mages get...? I'm having trouble seeing either as healers or tanks, but I'm not all that imaginative. Maybe there's some kind of long range plans there.
Mar 26th 2012 7:16PM I hear what you're saying, but in response to the reason you rolled a warlock, I rolled a DK to DPS, and a Paladin to heal. Both have tank specs, but I don't need to use them.
Mar 26th 2012 7:12PM I really must point to the splitting of druids into 4 specs as the most compelling argument against Demo gaining true tanking viability in the form of a glyph. If the conclusion for druids is that they are ultimately to difficult to balance with one spec that fills two roles, what is it about warlocks that would make them any easier to balance that way?
I wouldn't cry if Demonology's DPS wasn't comparable to the other 2 specs, if it meant that it became a tank spec. It would be better to just make Demo the tank tree, rather than have it be a glyph that gives the ability.
As cool as it would be, I'll be surprised if anything comes of Demo tanking. If I had to bet, I would put my money on the glyph not making it to live. It is more likely that warlock tanking would be the result of dedicating one entire spec to the role.
That said, perhaps the glyph is a trial balloon for real warlock tanking further down the road.
Mar 21st 2012 3:18PM A glyph that keeps levitate on even if you're damaged. Or at least as long as it's SW:D damage from yourself.
Mar 2nd 2012 6:05PM Saltstone? The legs on my realm are up on the AH for 5k. I'm tempted.
Jan 12th 2012 5:52PM I'll do ya one better. If the tank rolls greed, don't even ask. Just need on it.
Wait to see, of course, but if everyone who's rolling need is doing it for off spec, it's still just as fair.
The other 4 people will assume whatever they're going to whether you ask or not. Just do it I say!
To be clear, the above applies ONLY if the tank doesn't need. Same goes for healing gear.
