Jan 21st 2010 2:37AM Your stat weights may be correct but the way you are trying to portray them are wrong. You should just be comparing them as arbitrary values, not as spell power units. 1 int doesn't = any spell power and your comparison with the Bone Spike calculation is incredibly flawed. It is NOTHING like having a weapon with 835 SP. Sim the frozen bone spike, and them sim a weapon with 835 SP and see the difference.
You could have a weapon with 4000 int and it isn't going to do you anywhere near as good as even a couple hundred SP. You really should have clarified this at least instead of over simplifying everything into 'spell power units' and then providing a horrible example.
Jan 5th 2010 12:36PM Maybe the zones after 1-10 are 10-15? Not everyone (though probably most) knows this things so it isn't completely irrelevant.
Jan 5th 2010 12:34PM I agree with this somewhat, although BRD WAS HUGE! One of the best memories of WoW is going in there with a party of low 50s who had no idea where to go or what to do, just that there were 19 bosses. 19 BOSSES! So we counted each and everyone. We finally quit when we were in the torch room because we didn't know what to do, only to realize later how close we were. I really think that should count as at least 3 or 4 dungeons. I wish it had been broken up though really.
Dec 15th 2009 3:02PM " I think I speak for most tanks"..
I really think you don't. If someone is tanking a group of mobs, and there is a stray caster that is outside the tanks AoE range, there is no reason NOT to bring it into range of the tank so it will get hit by all his AoE threat abilities. Don't worry, it doesn't mean you are incompetent at tanking if a DK brings a mob into range for you. If you don't want this to happen then be sure you have all the mobs controlled yourself.
You said tanks get a mini-heart attack if the mob is attacking someone else. Well, most of the time a caster out of the group has no reason to be attacking the tank and is likely casting at the healer, and with 5 other mobs and the healer healing himself up it can be hard to notice. So it is much better to have the mob attack a plate wearer for 3 seconds and then the tank has aggro, then to just let it keep shooting at the healer.
Now Death Gripping a mob way past the tank as he is running to aggro the pack is another thing, or not giving him a chance to wrangle it in himself.
Dec 13th 2009 1:13AM Just thought I would point out to everyone feeling smug about getting this achieve on their first run, it is bugged to h$#l. We also got the achievement and I guarantee everyone in the group got hit at least twice on the way up the tunnel. We wiped in the middle of tunnel, ran up, tanked them near the end with ice falling on EVERYONE, walked out of tunnel, and got achievement. Found it very amusing.
Dec 13th 2009 12:58AM I don't see how it could be complicated to take into account all the items in my inventory. My DPS set is amazing, but my tank set sucks. So if I have my DPS set in my bags I'm going to get queued to tank HoR in blues? What if I have my novelty bag of lvl 1 costumes? I just don't see them making a system complex enough to do all these things when it would be much easier to just look at the iLvl of equipped items. Do you have a link to this so I could read more what they said?
Dec 12th 2009 11:20PM Uh...maybe the Frostwolf forum on the official site? Maybe ask in /2? Anywhere but a third party blog site?
Dec 12th 2009 11:19PM Dramatic much? This kinda things been going on as long as GC has been around.
Dec 12th 2009 11:17PM Just thought I'd point out the plural of strudel is strudels. Don't be afraid to put an 's' on it. Unless you're like a strudel nazi and everyone only get's 1 strudel.
Dec 8th 2009 4:59PM @James:
You say you can get hacked without any action being taken, however the two examples you posted both require action on your part.
Phishing requires you to enter your account information into a site or program that is NOT blizzard. If you look at the URL of links, and are diligent, you are not going to be fished by entering your info to wow.notblizzard.com
Also, you can't just get Malware by simply going to a website if you have appropriate security. You will have to download something to your computer.
So again, you really can't get hacked unless you download a malicious program, or give your info to a malicious site. Due diligence can prevent 100% of hacks. Though it is not always practical, so extra safeguards (i.e authenticator) don't hurt anything.
