Cataclysm playable at midnight PST Dec. 7, no matter how you buy it {WoW}

Nov 15th 2010 3:39PM You can blame the server first wannabee's or blizzard just being d-bags but I think the real reason is because of this

Argue all you want about the time zone fairness issue, but what wasn't fair was waiting til midnight while the stoner next door had been playing for hours because Randall and Dante don't know what a street date is.

. The only way to prevent this happening again was to turn the content on live at once everywhere.

For Wrath it took me 90 minutes to get home, get installed, get patched and logged on. I live in the central time zone so for me I basically have to wait 30 more minutes than I did for LK. No big deal.

Also remember that only the 80-85 stuff, worgen, goblins, Open at midnight. The other new stuff comming for the lower levels happens in 4.0.3a days before. That's alot better than the first two xpacs.

Oct 12th 2010 8:55AM I have friends who swear by "severe menstrual cramps". Personally I've never had much success with that excuse. But as my wife keenly pointed out that may be due to the fact I'm a guy.

Breakfast Topic: Predicting the future: Patch 5.0.1 {WoW}

Sep 21st 2010 11:39AM I’m not saying this is what it will be, but my thoughts on the next expainsion would be the following...

The way I see it, from a story stand point BC and LK wrapped up storylines from Warcraft III, as well as served as the beginning acts of the main Warcraft story, a war (if not THE war) between the the Old Gods and the titans. Cataclysm and the next expansion would then be ACT II of the story, drawing the battle lines on the two sides, delving further into the conflict between them, and making sure everything is in place before the final conflict.

At the end of Cataclysm Deathwing is defeated (I assume or else the last Cat raid will be REALLY boring) but it’s a hollow victory as his death brings about the TRUE Cataclysm, the release of the Old Gods on Azeroth. The misery and death running amok on Azeroth make the invasions by the Burning Legion and Scourge look like a bad run in with the Murlocs, and to make matters worse it appears as if Garrosh is preparing to ally the Horde with the Old Gods. But there is hope as Azeroth New “Last” Guardian Thrall has made a discovery that could save world.

World of Warcraft: Infinity

Thrall has discovered the on the other side of the world, west of Kalimdor and East of the Eastern Kingdoms lies another undiscovered continent. A continent hidden by Aman’Thul Highfather of the Titans from the Old Gods and Sargeras, a continent hidden from there perception by making it out of phase with the normal flow of time on Azeroth. Here Nozdormu uses all his energy to keep the barrier intact and fend of the attacks of the Infinite Dragonflight. At the heart of the continent lies The Pillar of Infinity, a massive Titanic construct that literally keeps the fabric of of time intact across the universe. Should it fall chaos will reign across the universe, and the Old Gods will be victorious.

Alliance players are sent by Velen, the new leader of the “Unified” Alliance following Varian’s death in Cataclysm to assist Nozdormu and the Titan Guardians in protecting the Pillar of Infinity, a massive Titanic construct that literally keeps the fabric of of time intact across the universe. Meanwhile Thrall has enlisted Horde “Resistance” players who do not wish to serve Hellscream’s Old God controlled Horde through the veil to do the same thing.

--New “Hidden” Continent, that includes (because you demanded it) Pandera.
--Pandaren become the first “Neutral” Player race, following their 1-20 starting zone the player may chose to ally with either the Alliance or the Horde.
--Level Cap raised to 90
--Hero Class: Keeper, Plate wearing pure DPS caster class with Time based spells and abilities. Begins play at 75.
--All Out War Between Alliance and Horde, while the Horde players are really aligned with Thrall not Hellscream, Garroshs war with the Alliance will force the Horde players into the conflict anyway. Neither Garrosh nor Velen are aware of Thralls secret army.
--Update of Outland. Velen has sent Alliance refugees fleeing the Old Gods destruction to Outland. But the Sanctuary is short lived as Garrosh has sent Horde troops to retake his homeland from the Dreanei.

Followed by the Conclusion X-Pacs:

World of Warcraft: War of the Gods

The war between the Old Gods and the Titans hits it’s peak. The arrival of the Titans has stemmed the rampant destruction on Azeroth, but they may have made a grave mistake. It is revealed that it is not the Old Gods who corrupted Sargeras, but rather that they serve him. The key in defeating them may lie on the Eredar homeworld or Argus.

World of Warcraft: Redemption

The Old Gods may have been defeated and imprisoned within Argus, but the Titans fell in the final battle as well, the mortal races are now alone, and Sargeras has returned The final battle is at hand, and the only hope for survival may be to find the savior of Azeroth, a reborn Paladin who once served Sargeras and became Azeroth’s greatest villain.

Addon Spotlight: Helpers for priest healers {WoW}

Aug 6th 2010 5:30AM HELL NO! I'm really bad about reading release notes for my addons. I don't know when they added it but it is very cool.

I admit I've never used clique/grid. I stated in BC with healbot, and since I'm a Druid ran with Lifebloomer for a while. I have to say Vuhdu is just amazing. It wasn't too daunting to set up and all the nice extras like raid debuff icons, and that little arrow just get me.

I've unsuccessfully tried to get my ICC10 healing partner to try, and she won't. But seriously to all healers. If you haven't give it a serious try.

Cataclysm closed beta live stream {WoW}

Jul 28th 2010 9:38PM Agreed. In live I am exclusively alliance and play mostly humans for the rep bonus. I've done the human starting areas so many times it's sick.

On beta I was very impressed with everything that changed in elwynn. Not just the big stuff but the little things like the flypoints in Goldshire and the logging camp. Moving princess, making Hogger easier to find.

Jul 19th 2010 3:40PM We're all missing the obvious solution. Wavy lines on the bc and nr loading screens.
