The Queue: Why it's not time for a warlock tank {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2012 6:59PM Same here - I'm not even a diablo fan, I just wasn't going to turn down an effectively free Blizzard game.

Breakfast Topic: What's the one thing you can't wait to find out about Mists? {WoW}

Mar 27th 2012 8:11AM After seeing the video of the female Pandaren yesterday, the updated race models, whenever that is.

Mists of Pandaria: Female pandaren emotes and animation {WoW}

Mar 26th 2012 10:24AM I want new models for old races in 6.0.1 (that is, after MoP)

So that they can be as good as that one there.

Breakfast Topic: Has your opinion about the pandaren changed? {WoW}

Mar 26th 2012 10:18AM "Nope, I will not be playing MoP. The game has turned to cartoonie and fuzzy , it's too focused on Raids and Gear and any type of story or lore in the game is based on some NPC and not my Toon.Even when I actually did Raid a couple of years ago you spend all that time and effort to finish the Raid and some NPC that I dont even care about gets all the credit."

"The game has turned to cartoonie and fuzzy", yet "it's too focused on raids and gear". Last time I checked raids and gear were not cartoonie and fuzzy. What's more, MoP is about putting the WAR back into World of Warcraft. One of the faction leaders will even be a raid boss (eventually), as one of the capital cities is attacked! WoW is about to be thrown back into a massive conflict.

"Any type of story or lore is based on some NPC and not my toon." Mostly, that's because World of Warcraft had an established RTS storyline based on specific characters well before it was an RPG, and most new characters help tie together existing plotlines.

What's more, we ARE heavily involved in the storyline. WE cleared Naxxramas, Ulduar and TotC (re-killing Anub'arak). Arthas' plan was for to turn US into the ultimate undead champions, and he came within a whisker of succeeding. WE cleared BoT, TotFW and BWD. WE (as well as almost everyone else on Azeroth) helped defend Hyjal, and helped take the offensive back to Firelands. WE defeated Murozond in End Time, gave the Bronze Dragonflight the opportunity they needed to take the Dragon Soul from the War of the Ancients and escorted Thrall to Wyrmrest Temple (ultimately saving him from the crazed Archbishop Benedictus). WE defended Wyrmrest from Mor'chok, Zon'ozz, Yor'sahj (and with Zon'ozz and Yor'sahj, Go'rath and Shu'ma, the things that we fight them in), survived the trap laid in the Eye of Eternity, stopped Ultraxion (Deathwing's creation that would truly end the world), ripped the plates off Deathwing's back and with the help of the Aspects somehow managed to take him on.

And yes, NPCs do come in and take the credit, but it makes for a better story than just "a group of adventurers killed him/her/it" all the time. The best example of that sort of thing is Onyxia, where her death is completely retconned to having been caused by Varian Wrynn.

Breakfast Topic: Has your opinion about the pandaren changed? {WoW}

Mar 26th 2012 8:39AM Completely agreed. What did it for me though was the first time I saw the image used as this article's header.

Seriously. You can see both models work well individually or side by side, and they both look like they're about to kick some serious arse.

Breakfast Topic: Were you impressed with the Mists of Pandaria press event? {WoW}

Mar 23rd 2012 9:25AM If you read the interviews, you'll notice that they said that beta would be soon. Not Soon™, but soon. As in very soon. Sounds like they knew beta was right around the corner, but they couldn't officially announce it because:

a) they decided it would be better to wait a couple of days
b) they weren't 100% sure it was going to start by now
or
c) there was some red tape they needed to get through before launching the beta, but it was otherwise ready to be launched

The Queue: Ask the beta testers {WoW}

Mar 22nd 2012 4:10PM Ooh, it might've been this:

Given that Thrall installed Garrosh a the temporary warchief (and even Garrosh used the word "temporary" in his letter to Magatha) of a peacetime Horde, why do you think no one will step up to challenge his leadership until it is too late?

Side note: the thing I'm looking forward to the most about killing Garrosh? Gorehowl will probably be on his loot table.

The Queue: Ask the beta testers {WoW}

Mar 22nd 2012 3:55PM Yesterday's comments contained some of the best reading I've ever had on this site. I needs to be in your Best of 2012 series, without a doubt.

I had a good Garrosh related question to ask, but I've forgotten it now =(

The Queue: The sins of the father {WoW}

Mar 22nd 2012 2:03AM Garrosh did say he was sorry, or at least the equivalent thereof:

"Unto Elder Crone Magatha of the Grimtotem,
Acting Warchief of the Horde, Garrosh Hellscream,
Sends his most sincere wishes for a slow and painful death.
It has come to my attention that you have deprived me of a rightful kill. Cairne Bloodhoof was a hero to the Horde and an honorable member of a usually honorable race. It is with disgust and anger that I discover you have caused me to bring about his death through accidental treachery.
Such tactics may work well for your renegade, honorless tribe and Alliance scum, but I despise them. It was my wish to fight Cairne fairly, and win or lose by my own skill or lack of it. Now I shall never know, and the cry of traitor will dog my steps until such time as I can sport your head on a pike and point to you as the real traitor.
So...no. I will not be sending any truehearted orcs to fight alongside your treacherous, belly-crawling tribe. Your victory or your defeat is in the hands of your Earth Mother now. Either way, I look forward to hearing of your demise.
You are on your own, Magatha, as friendless and disliked as you have ever been. Perhaps more. Enjoy your loneliness."
