Breakfast Topic: Is it the perfect time to start playing WoW again? {WoW}

Mar 9th 2012 11:34AM I'll tell you what this is the perfect time to do, GET YOUR PVP GEAR! No I'm serious, hear me (read me?) out. You can get pvp gear by simply doing BG's, and by converting the free valor points from the RF into conquest points. If you do that, a casual player need only win 2 BG's every day to cap, something that can usually be done within an hour or so. This will give you a full ilvl 403 pvp set, equivalent to any arena players, with the exception of a ilvl 403 weapon.

Why is this important? I hear you all ask, well I'll tell you why. When Mists does launch, what will be the main difference from when Cataclysm launched? NO FLYING IN MISTS. This means that, as soon as we get onto that glorious panda-filled paradise, we will, like it or not, be running into members of the opposite faction all the way to 90.

This will inevitably mean conflict. Even though the gear is most certainly only going to last you maybe 2-3 levels before being trumped by Mists gear, It will give you a very distinctive edge when first hitting those initial leveling zones. Trust me. You WILL run into that rogue who thinks its funny to hit you while you are fighting 2 mobs. You WILL find members of both factions who simply want you dead.

The secret to staying alive is to be one step ahead of these gankers, and other than playing with a friend or group of people, the best way to stay alive, and maybe dish out some punishment is to earn that pvp gear, and now is the time to do it.

I just found out they now allow you to purchase all of the gear, including the Grand Marshall/High Warlord weapons if you made it to KNIGHT-CHAMPION rank in vanilla. I of course server changed on the week I was supposed to hit Knight-Champion, wiping my honor for that week and of course, am clearly not as deserving of the gear.

This makes me even more furious. People who NEVER EARNED Grand Marshall back in the day are running around with the transmogged GM weapons, but the rest of the WOW population somehow doesn't qualify this. Though I'm clearly upset I'm so close to earning these transmogs yet never will, I'm more upset that these sets are being gated from the WoW community in the first place.

I was less incensed when at least only Grand Marshalls were actually allowed to earn the gear they deservedly worked for, but the fact that the rest of the WoW population isn't allowed to have these sets when vanilla Knight Champions (though they did NOT earn them either) can is ridiculous. At the very least tie these old sets to RBG's so that we can have a shot at earning them currently.

To be perfectly honest this is the kind of vanilla-mindset garbage that I hated when I actually played back then, and the fact that Blizzard isn't even following it's own logic for denying these sets to the general public today smacks of the arrogance that was commonplace back then, before Blizzard decided having subscribers was better than having silly restrictions.

My paladin has Knight-LT Rank from the Old PvP system, and is not eligible for any of the pvp transmogs. Seriously disapointed given how that what I was mainly looking forward to. I am also not eligible to purchase any of the honor gear look-alikes from Area 52.

I would have assumed I would have been allowed at least the boots/gloves, since I genuinely earned them in vanilla, but not even that is available to me. If anyone has any armory links of toons with a pvp item higher than the FoS that would have allowed them to earn it back in vanilla I would love to see it, for I would be opening a ticket asap.

The Light and How to Swing It: In defense of Inquisition {WoW}

Feb 15th 2012 6:33PM I have to agree with this, and the above post. My real issue however,
is that every single critique of inquisition I have seen has been from
a PVE perspective.

Remembering to keep it up during PVE rotation, with a PVE set bonus is
one thing, it is quite another when you are struggling to actually hit
a target in PVP. If you are stuck running after a ranged target, and
struggling to generate the Holy Power to do your attacks, having to
blow 1 HP for a 9 second inquisition is much more of a challenge.

This isn't to say its impossible mind you, but it definitely doesn't
spring to mind as the most fun or even challenging part of PVP, as
much as a chore to keep it up at best, and the thing that hampers your
burst output at worst.

Considering rogues don't have to deal with this mechanic anymore, it
does feel a bit bizarre that paladins now need to do it so that we
aren't "faceroll".

I have this macro'd, and it extends your cam distance by a lot. I used to use a lot it in EoE. Not sure if this is what you need, but hope it helps
