Aug 19th 2010 6:08PM Sword in the Skull is a crappy achievement, I've run those stupid dungeons over 1000 times and never even seen a single Battered Hilt to roll on.
Aug 9th 2010 2:12AM Wrath and its easy peasy rotations and infinite mana regen and massive threat boosts is already too hard for half the so-called "raiders" out there still struggling on the first 6 bosses in ICC with 30% buff. Cataclysm is shaping up to be so beyond their capacity, it is going to result in a massive reduction in tanks & healers and then a steady decline in subscribers as people get sick of wiping in normal dungeons.
Remember, this is the first expansion where Ghostcrawler is a lead developer. The people who turned this game into an 11.5 million strong subscriber base are all on the new MMO and next Starcraft (Diablo is a different studio within Blizzard). GC has a hardcore mentality and feels the game should be harder for casuals and easier for hardcore players. So many of the talents are designed such that a skilled player hits for a lot more damage, heals for a lot more, generates much more threat and loses a lot less mana if they click things in the perfect order to generate the most stacks of whatever gimmick resource on top of mana they invented for each class.
The casual players will not understand these things and wonder why they are having such a hard time with the game (causing them to be even further ostracized).
I would not be surprised if a huge reversal took place in the first content patch and the game made much easier again to keep the massive casual audience from defecting to Old Republic.
Jun 11th 2010 6:04PM GC for everyone else with unbalancing talents says "PVP is not balanced around individuals, it's a group balance" and then when it comes to Warriors says "Warriors have way too much PVP utility with Mortal Strike (even though they can't survive without healers), NERF IT TO THE GROUND BABY" Make up your mind.
Jun 5th 2010 10:49AM Seriously - downrating someone's opinion? You people are a piece of work - yes, it's OK for somebody to not like Kara!
Jun 3rd 2010 2:15PM If Blizzard has any confidence in their game, they would let this addon stay and make it obsolete through innovation and providing a better product.
They should ban all addons and see how their game stands against other modern MMO's. Lord of the Rings Online doesn't allow any addons, yet they provide every modern function that addons provide in their very customizable base UI.
Time to take those billions and use it to improve your game Blizzard.
Jun 3rd 2010 2:13PM That's a crock, Blizzard has said in the past that they design encounters assuming everyone has specific addons installed. The poor saps who don't just end up with impossible content.
May 28th 2010 7:26PM Blizzard got butthurt that somebody improved their game and exposed their silly boss fights for what they were. Made difficult just through confusing mechanics, stacking debuffs and "move exactly 8 yards away but we won't tell you what 8 yards is". The encounter designers who made Vanilla and BC great all must have left for greener pastures, because the WOTLK was a heaping pile of fail. AVR didn't make raiding braindead, Blizzard did long before that.
I look forward to when they add AVR functionality into the game and charge $2.99 a month for the "raiding enhancement pack"
May 28th 2010 11:50AM We just need to wait for the first murder to occur where someone is found via their real name in wow and brutally murdered, then blizzard can tack on a 2.99 fee to this feature to pay for legal costs
May 28th 2010 8:30AM Tried this one over 200 times in the past 18 months and it is impossible on my server, the 3rd cast is instant due to lag (he literally turns into a mammoth before you even see a cast go off), there is no chance to interrupt it. I don't know of anyone who's ever done this one. Tried pinging the GM, but the ticket times are over 72 hours.
