Apr 12th 2010 12:13PM I do not see Leap of Fail or "Life Grip" whatever you wan to call it, as being a priest spell.
Anyone that has played a healing class knows what a fight looks like. It looks like every fight you ever heal. Here's a hint: Health Bars with some sort of motion in the background, and the occasional glance to make sure you yourself aren't standing in the fire.
Priests have enough going on with healing. I would very seriously hate to see a priest take the time to actually see someone standing in fire, have to move in range if necessary, target them, cast Leap of Fail, re-target the tank and start a heal. It seems it would be more beneficial to let 1 retarded dps DIAF than to lose your tank.
I can hear it now...
Tank: "I'm down... wtf happened w/ healz"
Priest: "I had to lof Azmunch out of the fire."
Jan 24th 2010 5:13PM First - My main at the moment is a pally tank. The problem that have with most dps (especially aoe dps) is their misunderstanding of what "threat" is. Just because something is running toward me, doesn't mean you can unleash your mega AoE spell. Another indicator that you should not dps/aoe yet is - I'm still running. I'd much rather your dps be 500points lower if you'll just give me that extra 2-3 seconds to establish threat.
Second - I recently leveled a shaman and have respec'd him to Elemental. I cannot count the number of people that comment on my dps.. and not in a good way. I hit 80 about a week ago, and was leveling as Enchancement... so I had to build an elemental set from scratch. To anyone that hasn't played an Elemental shaman, there's not a lot of gear choices out there unless you roll on leather and cloth... which would seem I cannot Need on in PuGs. To me, so far - elemental shamans play a lot like Affliction Locks. There's not a lot of AoE damage spells that Ele shamans have. I refuse to use thunderstorm unless its an emergency because, well... if you look at my first point, I play a tank. Nothing pisses me off more than some Ele Shaman coming up and thunderstorming everything I'm fighting out of my range, as well as the range of the melee dps. So when it comes to trash pulls I'm usually pretty low on the meters. In addition to that though it's mainly because I'm stopping my casting to cast windshear on that loose caster that isn't in the tanks range, or I stop casting all together because.. for example, the skele's in Forge of Souls. Once they put up their reflective shields, I might as well stop until they're off. Once we get to a boss fight however, I'm usually 1st or 2nd.
Keep in mind, this is with crappy blue and some epic gear. Most of it not even enchanted yet and only gemed with green quality +hit gems. All these people with 5k+ gear scores seem to have forgotten that once upon a time, they too were only pushing out about 2.5k dps. (if they were lucky) I remember the first time I seen a rogue break 3k and was like This guy is godly!
Dec 9th 2009 3:33PM After leveling most of the way to around 72 as blood, I grew very fond of the healing abilities. I tried unholy and for some reason I couldn't stand it.. maybe its the whole pet thing. =\ I'm currently a 77 frost dk and love it.
This was a very informative article; however, I must say that these youtube wars are getting old, lame and far off topic. I visit wow.com for information about the wow community. If I wanted to see Lady GaGa's lastest video, I'd visit mtvmusic.com or vh1's website.
That's not to say that I don't like Lady GaGa, I think she's awesome... creepy -- yes, but still awesome. What I am saying is I think you guys need to put this youtube senseless youtube video war to rest.
Dec 8th 2009 6:20PM I would imagine that Arthas must have a certain "Nightelf Mohawk" on his payroll and he's hacking the World of Warcraft servers as Arthas's last defense for Icecrown Citadel.
Dec 8th 2009 2:32PM ^ when the *video* starts...
(seriously, get an edit button) :P
Dec 8th 2009 2:30PM Raid entrance is straight ahead of the drake when the raid starts. Looks like the doors are closed though. You can see a battering ram on the stairs.
Dec 8th 2009 1:51PM Yes, the intro quest... "Go find Sylvannas at the side entrance of ICC." Okay... hop on the trusty flying mount and fly from Dalaran to ICC.
20 minutes later... I finally find the entrance.
Let's see if blizzard takes my feedback about adding "West" side to the quest text. :P
Dec 8th 2009 10:37AM Uhm.. so - what are your character's names and which server so I know never to group with you people. lol
Whether you're 68 running normal UK, or a veteran 80 farming TotC25 - there's one important rule for every fight.
"Don't stand in the [random color here] stuff!"
Don't have time to look at your character? Scary.
