May 23rd 2007 8:31AM Kudos to Blizzard. This is one of those moments that make me proud to be a gamer.
My family will be praying for you Ezra. God bless.
Oct 24th 2006 3:59PM People really need to just stop. They complain when a game is rushed out and they complain when a game is delayed to get the bugs worked out. While I'm a tad irritated at this (among many other things that have happened today) I'm not really surprized. In truth I'd rather they take the extra time to get it right than have them have to shut down the servers any number of times trying to fix broken items and abilities.
Oct 10th 2006 7:52PM You know, based on some of the posts concerning this story, I'd say that more than a few people need some therapy. Don't like the game? Fine, the answer there is don't play it.
However, considering that there are millions of Chinese players and people who play WOW all over the world. I'd hardly call it a "white only" game. In point of fact its more than a little insulting to the gaming community as a whole. Take your bigotry and kindly shove it where the sun doesn't shine. We'll all be happier not listening to your Thompsonesque drivel.
Oct 4th 2006 2:09PM *sigh* ok here's my advice to any parents out there who read this site with any degree of regularity. is everyone paying attention? good. you are the parent, they are the child. turn the computer off for them and tell them to get a job to pay for it themselves or the account goes bye bye. also you can simply put a time limit on how long they can be on the computer or play a console. your problem is now solved, please stop whining and contacting tabloid news shows so you can have your fifteen minutes in the spotlight.
Sep 29th 2006 10:41PM Ok Mr. Thompson lets talk turkey then. Do you honestly believe that a videogame factored more into this killing than the horrific abuse that Mr. Posey endured? Why not try acting like a real Christian and go to that young man and comfort him, help him heal the terrible psychological wounds inflicted upon him by an abusive father. Odds are you'll never do that because it won't net you any money nor will it make you famous as "the lawyer who destroyed video games". What you are sir is a callous, and mean spirited man whose only goal in life seems to be feeding off the misery of people who have lost loved ones to violence. Shame on you sir.

Which is what I meant by the indifference of others. If someone had spoken up and said "hey this kid needs help" then maybe this all could have been avoided and the deceased paternal unit (I cannot bring myself to call him a father by any stretch of the imagination) would be in jail. I truly believe that this all could have been avoided had just one person come forward and reported the abuse. Now three people are dead because no one thought to get involved.
Sep 29th 2006 2:58PM Another question to be asked here is why didn't the state's child protective services ever step in. If the abuse was so well known then one would think that the proper authorities would have stepped in long before something like this happened. It seems to me that what truly led to these killings is the insidious evil known as the indifferance of others.
Sep 28th 2006 7:06AM Yeah. Heard it before JT and still don't buy it. If anything contributed to Posey's killing of his family it was the horrific abuse he was subjected to. Anyone with the smallest degree of common sense can see that. How you can actually make the claim that a videogame had more to do with it than anything else only goes to show that you've lost touch with reality.
