Jun 21st 2007 9:16AM I rolled a lock for my first character. Not quite sure why, I wanted to be a gnome. I think warlock might just have been the first thing that came up. I played on a friends account and managed to get my lock up to 40-ish... when one day I went to log on and the password had changed. He wanted his account back for himself. I managed to sneak in and strip my character (I was an enchanter so REALLY strip my character).
After that I rolled a hunter because I could really appreciate the utility of soloing with a pet. Hunter's now 70, but I've also got a 70 mage and a boatload of 20-ish alts.
Jun 20th 2007 11:13AM I think he may have gotten the skill restored if he didn't go to the forums and bitch/lie about it. I've seen a few posts like that of blue's just completely exposing people for what they are.
Jun 18th 2007 3:55PM I think what a lot of people forget about the frost spec is DPS vs. mana output. I find that during long fights spamming my cheap frost bolt (with my water elemental by my side doing the same) can do some great damage and I rarely/almost never run out of mana during boss fights.
During the longer ones a quick evocation will definitely last the rest of the fight. The fire mages I've seen eat through mana insanely fast.
Jun 18th 2007 11:43AM Our guild always had the kind of opposite problem. No one wanted to do new content (because it was such a wipe fest) until it was on farm status. So BWL sign-ups lagged behind MC ones until that was on farm. Then AQ40 sign-ups lagged, and then naxx sign-ups after that. The guild is pretty casual, but there is/was a pretty solid group of hardcore raiders that'd show up every time (probably about 30 or so) and then 10 or so casual raiders.
Jun 15th 2007 4:51PM I think attendance and effort to upgrade current gear counts for a lot. That being said, effort to upgrade current gear can get a bit tricky. For a while, not long after BC came out my hunter got a "talking to" from the guild leader (also hunter) for having crappy gear. He told me to get the Beast Lord set. I sorted out where it dropped and went out to kill my little heart out. Well I've done vaults about 20-30 times, mech and bot each about 15-20 times and shattered halls about 10 times and I haven't seen ONE piece of beast lords drop (but have gotten a few other upgrades from the runs). Told my GM, he looked at my rep status on the amory and gave me a bit of a pass.
I've started picking up heroics a bunch for the badge rewards. Personally, I'd rather someone gets a BIG upgrade than giving myself a small sidegrade.
Jun 15th 2007 3:14PM Dude, this guy sucks and clearly doesn't know anything about being a warrior. Boooooo... hiiissss...
Hehe, had to get that out of the way. So far so good. I'm surprised they didn't heart you out to get your tank gear and resummon you. Even if it was before the portals a 20man grp is bound to have a lock somewhere.
My fiance is my tank so I'll have to start passing these articles along to him. He could use some help.
Jun 13th 2007 5:41PM @18 I see you've taken the blue pill
Useful, I'm not too great at writing macros and occasionally find these columns a bit useless for the non-stupid hunter, but some definite nice tips I'll add to my game.
Jun 13th 2007 2:13PM I'd be great if you could vote someone out of a BG. Have it have a minimum of like 4 votes for 10mans and like 10 or so for AV. I realize it could be abused, but even then, getting rid of the jerk that tries to pull Drek's room and consistently fails would be nice.
Jun 13th 2007 1:54PM Is anyone surprised? People find a way to exploit something and blizzard's natural response is to nerf it into oblivion.
Look at fishing. It was cool for a little while, but the bots caught on and BAM they nerfed it into a long painful timesink that only the most hearty of alchemists would go. It's only now getting back to being interesting/useful.
Jun 13th 2007 10:15AM Okay, now everyone repeat after me, "I am not crunchy and do not taste good with ketchup"
